He talks so much crap, anyways i really hope its a good game, but i'm really angry about the carebear pvp, and the fact that you have to raid instances all day when your 80. SIGH!

I don't know if your read it properly, or all of it? or your just mis-informed, but you don't have to raid all day when you reach level 80. Oh and loot options havent been decided yet, so I find it hard to label it as Carebear???
Fair point taken. I will make a deeper report on this matter later. I just a bit stress at the moment. My company are going to simulated a terroirst attack at the nuclear power plant i am working on. So there will be tons of armed commandos running around.
Homer? Is that you ?
I am sorry. Really.I appologize. I just couldnt resist.
Well, its not as informative as they used to be. However it answered some of the questions there have been for the last several weeks on the forum, still, the most cricitical cases are unanswered.
What "critical cases" are you talking about? Thats not very specific.
Read you own first post about mini games. As it looks like there is nothing at all outside of combat, PvP and quests (including crafter quests). The game seems to have a very weak social part and nothing to do while downtimes.
Not saying its good or bad. But i am sure a lot of people will miss something 2 months past level cap.
Am i the only one infuriated by the fact that the game is suposed to be 3 months away from release and they havent implemented pvp into beta? By the fact they have not released or even tested mage's gameplay yet? That border kingdoms dont even exist in beta yet?
Let me remind u that open betas are usually used to stress test the servers, and not to fix gameplay or balance issues. So take away another 15-20 days of their development time.

Just out of curiosity, apart from PvP, Quests and Combat, what exactly would you consider to be included as well? Do you mean things like...the Cantina's in SWG? So, Tavern's basically?
This is a serious question. I'd be happy if someone replied to it.

I was actually going to avoid this thread. But, your question hit me.
Yes, I'd actually like Cantina's back. An actual social thing would be nice to have back in the industry. Being able to bar fight as well as get drunk and punch bar maids in the ha-ha's would be just swell too.

Anything not combat. Mind you, crafting wont have any grind to fill downtimes. Anything to do while you are LFG for a dungeon or waiting for guildies to do a CTF PvP minigame or raid or siege, or not feeling like PvP or combat at all. Just anything with a bit of depth.
I am quite sure there will be one or more pubs in game. Probably there are even some roleplayers .But i mean something really to do. In EQ2 for example you can collect pages. Once you have all pages you get a book you really can read. There is a vast number of books. Or a meaningful and detailed housing. Functional player cities are not what i mean. You cant do anything with them. You just build them because your highend crafter needs an anvil. From there you just have to throw in lots of raws to keep them up. What i mean is a fun-and-fluff-progression thingy you can do while downtimes and what would be a counterbalance to the gritty and brutal world.
No more first class ticket to hell for dipping to far into the dark side. That sucks, i really thought that was a cool feature. But then i guess i understand, it would kind of suck having a few key members of your party get sucked into hell in the middle of a fight. But it would be worth it i think.
yea i hear you. I liked the idea and from the early vids. i can say some of the devs were enthusiastic also. I agree the dying part was harsh. I dont know maybe they are already doing something like this but cant they implement "weaker" things. like lowering max health, getting crippled, getting on fire. If done right with good visuals it would be nice. Instead of sucked by a portal, one would lose a leg/arm to a demon reaching him from a unintentionally opened momentary portal.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I like collecting things, playing card games with others, fishing, reading and collecting lore,etc...
While they have not talked about much of this, I hope it will be there in release or soon after. Sometimes it is nice to log in, and while waiting for PUG's or a guildie, do something with your downtime.
I am a big fan of exploring the game world. It would be nice to get some credit for exploring and finding things off the beaten path. It is a feature of EQ2 I like. These games are not much of a comparison, but that is just one other thing that I would like to see to keep me occupied when I solo(without doing quests).

You would not lose a caster to hell, but you might open a portal to hell and have it shoot a demon into the fight. Something comparible to your level, but tuff none the less. It would add a new element to spellweaving, but without a harsh penalty of losing a member of your group.
I wonder if mages would be welcome to a group once a big red monster rips your shamans face off?

Ahhh, OK, I understand now. Yeah, that would actually be a neat thing to have. I personally enjoyed the page collections in EQ2, hell, I even liked reading the little books that were scattered all over WoW. It would be a nice idea to have something like that inside the game, or something similar anyways. That being said, I haven't heard of anything like it before in any official material, so guess I'll have to wait and see.
Also, towards Falfeir, as far as I know, you still can get negative effects from too much Spellweaving, you can even kill yourself doing it, and your group (possibly), just that the caster won't be trapped in Hell anymore. I kind of see why the caster having to fight his/her way back out of hell every time that happened (inside a raid or group for example) would be frustrating for the group, even though it would have been wicked cool. ^_^

why not? also if they can tie spells with hazardous effects, good stories can come out. if demon summoning fails, you get a demon to fight. if you try to conjure a flaming sword your hand gets burned by a ultra hot sword etc. ("You see, he was trying to summon a demon, to get a fire demon, instead of using fireball, he went with inferno. he got a fire demon alright; an angry, mind effect immune, prince fire demon!" )
and about welcoming mages, whats losing a face between friends, right? it wasnt intentional

Not a bad option if getting sucked into hell is no longer one.
Though i was going to make a Dark Templar just so i could see what getting sucked into hell was like.
All I got out of that was that Funcom needs a longer arm to pat themselves on the back with, classes being removed (they say "merged" instead, what a joke) and features that are not going to make live that sounded good "on paper".
Did I miss something, how is this "exciting" or a "good read"?

Only if a warrior chop off his own arm if he manages a critical miss
I find the developer announcement to be very well-presented. It makes me a bit jealous wishing that our team can do as good of a job with relations!

Very much so, its called honest "feedback".
