Feb. 14, Bandai Korea?NTL?and CJinternet etc announced the latest gameplay video and current stage of the much anticipated MMORPG of 2008 - DragonBall Online, based on the popular DragonBall franchises. The game will be in beta around Q2 2008 in Korea.

Well there is one I never thought of making into a MMO but then it does have alot of potential. the fighting style would be fast paced. I wonder if you could still fight after dying? That may be a whole side quest.
I am now 20 yrs old but I watched the series when I was 10 alongside my brother and I loved it. No way in he** I am not going to play this game or atleast try it.

Well, they've got me interested. The combat looks decent, but what intrigued me most was the little cutscene at the end where the pod dropped and the guy jumped out. Must've been a boss fight or something.
Looks pretty cool. I never watched the entire series of DBZ... but I mean, it took years just to get to the point I got to... which wasn't long after the big Goku/Frieza fight on Namek.
Would be fun to have fusion with other players lol
Hrm, some concepts look interesting. Looks like you have to grow up into a powerful warrior, and you start out a kid. The combat looks bland though. I would expect DBO to be very combat Centric. I think they should have concentrated on developing it more since it looks like a typical western mmo combat.
The combat looks very much like... the usual stuff. Doesn't look very new, seems like just about any MMO but with Dragonball title thrown on.
Which is actually not half bad .
Why did the copy WoW's UI? The last thing I want to be reminded about (if I play this game) is WoW.
I loved db/dbz when I was a child and I still do, so this will be intresting.

I like the marriage/children concept. It would make guilds, especially PVP guilds, useful. And cooperation would become the skill that real players would have to consider exercising in a similar manner that players in EVE do. All in all, it may not be a mind blowing product, but that feature alone may make this game grow in the West, if it works that is.

Kame sennin(Roshi) will be alive though, since he's immortal and dende is probably still alive.
The marriage concept is really interesting and I have to say I am surprised to find it in a an Asian MMO first. i would have thought the concept of passing on genes in order to continue character growth would have been done in the West already, but it seems we shall have to wait for this one to get here. ^_^

That's the same video clip, from someone elses camera, in the same room... except the quality on this persons camera is... you guessed it... OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!!
Frankly, and this goes the same with the million DBZ games for the PS2 and beyond that are the EXACT SAME, they need to let this franchise die. If the game works anything like the show, you could walk on the moon before anyone makes a single attack. Yes, I went there. How many episodes did they need for someone to charge one attack anyway? Did someone keep track? or did everyone just skip to the last episode?

coolest thing about dragonballz was they could fly and shoot lazers from thier hands. pew pew.
looks to me like they've kind of taken out all the most interesting parts and made another generic mmo. I want to have a monkey tail with which I can turn into a giant monkey. I'm not interested if I can't at least float through the air an its like making a harry potter mmo about the muggles!
