Looking for an amazing new game? Try this one--Nearly PERFECT!

Hey all =),

Looking for a new MMO? Even if you aren't, there is a lot that you could be getting that your current one isnt giving you.  So I have the nearly PERFECT--not an exaggeration--MMO.  I have recently switched from WoW after hitting 70 and starting the raiding treadmill, spent so long trying to get my flying mount and then found out that I would need *EVEN MORE* hours to farm gold, and all this was only to the benefit of being able to have the raiding social hour...BORING O_o.  So, as bummed out as I was, I canceled my account and started searching.  Then I remembered this really old article in Game Informer about "life after WoW: whats your next MMO?" and I said hey this would be perfect, so I popped it open and did some research on some of them.   Now while warhammer online looked pretty kwl, after really going to read through it it seemed like there was a big level grind in it and I would have to pick a class which, as happened in WoW, I would not be satisfied with.  So Then a small little sidebar caught my eye: Fury.  It said that this is supposed to be PvP reborn and gladatorial arena-style combat.  Now orginally I said bleh...I'm not a big PVP fan myself and the idea of gladatorial arena combat isnt my style...but I checked it out anyways.  I figured hey, it's only $20 and theres no monthly subscription fee, so I purchased it and walked into Gaming heaven.  Fury is simply perfect: very little can be done that would make this game better.  Only $20 one-time fee, no subscription!!!  Here are some of the features that makes fury so amazing:

1. NO LEVEL GRIND WEWT!!!  No having to spend ridiculous amounts of time lvling to max lvl, instead you just unlock a couple key abilities and you are already competitive with some of the best (depending on how you are skilled...)

2. HAIL PVP!  I am not a big pvp fan myself, but you just eventually forget what PVE was like...I mean honestly lets think about it here: In WoW, all you do is Spend hours and hours each day grinding levels to do what? Reach an endgame that is all about farming and getting better gear to do what?  Raid big bosses which other ppl have already told you how to kill...lame IMO...It's really amazing, and it isnt so different from PVE...Noob players are like lower-lvl Mobs and are ezmode to kill lol....And the Vets are like trying to solo a raid boss most of the time O_o (depending on the circumstances XD)

3. Amazing balance system.  You will NOT, I repeat NOT be outgunned bcuz the vets have better gear and better abilities then you, because Fury has balanced it so that Newbs and Vets are equal using this brilliant system: Equip points! Everyone has 1,000 Equip points to spend on abilities to put on their bar and equipment to equip.  Which brings me to my fourth, and maybe best, point...

4. Make your own class!  OMGF I didn't think it was possible in an MMO but fury has pulled it off...Custom classes Wewt!!!  You can switch between your Different custom-made builds any time in between battles, and You can spend as much time as you like just customizing your builds...Trying to make that build completely perfect XD or you can just spend a little time on it, maybe ask some clanmates for advice, then Get right into the action!!!  This system is truly amazing.  <3

5. Mana is for losers!  I don't know about you but I am so sick of going "OOM" in WoW and having to sit down for 20 seconds and drink some crap that costs me large amounts to get enough that I need...either that or buy lots of priest gear and wait in between combats without drinking for even longer O_o...No, instead they have truly perfected the "mana/energy'rage" system: Elemental charges.  You only have 2 limits on how long you can keep going, so you can feel free to blow away your opponents with your uber powerful abilities without having to worry about going uh-oh...mana conservation time!!!  Weak abilities that do a little bit of damage to your opponent build up elemental charges, to a maximum of 10 of each type of charge (but opposite aligned charges cancel each other out...sry no  build w/ fire's dmg and water's healz =D) and then start blowing your opponent to pieces with your uber powerful charge consuming abilities: whether its healz, buffs, defensive abilities, or just sick attacks.  However, you also must be careful, as people with certain types of abilities can manipulate your charges, thus leaving you useless (so don't just constnatly build up max charges then spam O_o)...and there is also a system to balance out the fact that, if you brought enough defensive abilities (healz/dmgshields), then you could just keep going forever as long as you kept your hp up.  You can still keep going for a long time if you are skilled, but it is a hell of a lot harder to keep going indefinitely.  Combat fatigue: The longer you are in combat, the less effective healing becomes.  it gradually builds up, until you are at 90% less effective incoming healing.

6. Sick finishing moves!!!   Once you unlock some "deathblows", you can use sick mortal-combat style finishing moves on your opponent once they are at a certain % of their hp, and once it starts it cannot be escaped from!!!!  Plus these moves are truly epic... and they are balanced out by costing the maximum of one type of charge and having 1-minute cooldown

7. Now, you might be saying, OMG I'm gonna get ganked 24/7!!!  But this is not the case, for in between battles, your life is in a sanctuary, where you can browse the auction house, socialize with other players, join groups, or QUEU FOR BATTLE!

8. Lots of warzone types, from 1v1 first to die loses, to massive free-for-alls where death only costs you a few points.  Also, if you get enough ppl together you can host your own private custom events.  Imagine a 16v16 Elimination O_o i wasn't there but apparently they did it once it pwned!!!

9. Amazing equipment system...You get equipment rewards after battles, and everyone gets to roll on the equipment, you don't get more based on whether you win or lose, just if you play!!!  Plus you can go to the Artificers, ppl who craft stuff for you for money, and spend some money getting randomized items of certain types...Also there are very few "WTFPWNED" pieces of equip, and soon you will have just as good equipment as the vets, (excluding a few extra %s of dmg T_T)

10. Enough listening to me, go to the game already...I could probably give you 10 more reasons to get it...www.unleashthefury.com  Only $20 and no monthly fee!!!  PST in-game if you want a clan or just any advice, name is Diend, leader of the clan <Recoil>.

Cya in Fury!

Poor attempt at advertising a bad game.

Sorry to disappoint you, Fury  was pretty much a massive flop, most of the devs were sacked and they closed down their forums in December, good luck getting a patch or a reply to a support ticket. It was good back in beta but they slowed it down alot and the game is currently more about Procs than skill. Fury was definetly one of my favourite PvP MMO's as I pretty much despise any form of PvE, however it needs a major overhawl and doesn't look like it will get it, and most of the top guilds already quit.

Auran, the company, recently went bankrupt, but they decided to keep fury and are currently dealing w/ all sorts of legal crap.  Sure, there hasn't been a patch in a while, but they recently fixed 2 of the game-breaking bugs.  They are still alive, and need your support to keep this amazing game going.  I hate ppl who don't state all the facts and simply try and say, "gl getting a patch".  This game is amazing.  The age of the chosen patch, contrary to popular opinion, only Balanced the equipment system rather then breaking it.  it is not about procs more then skill, the only procs that are nice to have are so common that you can get them ridiculously cheap.  The only advantage vets will have over you is slightly more % chance to have those procs...and they will also have disadvantages of less other benefits...really, this game is amazing.  GJ auran.  Support this game now and join today.

Trust me, my guild played pre and post patch. The game is was worst than it used too be, and as I've been waiting for a response to my support ticket since November and they are no longer giving F2P Keys, I think they are dealing with having 0 staff?

Check my profile, I used to rank second on the overall ladder when the PvP was  fast, tough and competitive, now you can wait over an hour and never even get into a match.

They made the game too elitist, meaning unless you were a complete hardcore PvPer with real life cash to donate to the game you didn't have a chance, sure they fixed alot of those issues in the December patch however they did not offer any of the old players compensation hence = Mass Exodus.

Also what place do Proc's have in a supposedly skill based PvP game? lol.

You know what, the fact of the matter is that anyone who played this game uptill this point would have trouble in being as positive about it as you are being due to being worn out and having been through a lot with Auran and and Fury.  The games been through quite a few different stages and what it needs right now is for players to try it and come here and post their constructive feedback wether positive or negative (as long as its constructive).

Its NEW & FRESH OPINIONS that this game needs.

Thanks for posting the perspective of a NEW PLAYER.

Lets keep this thread on topic.

Ya Diend, I think i remeber seeing your name in game some time while playing. Its great that there are new people buying it but it just sucks we get the same 5 players that cant let go and feel the need to spread constant hate.

I am the Clan leader of Genocide and we are arguebly the best clan in Fury atm. The reason I bring this point up is because I have seen this game at its glory in fights against very tough teams. This game is intense and Ive never played anything that gets my blood pumping like this. While the population is low and there arent very many elite teams out there at this time. Games that are so close and require so much skill really make the game worthwhile.

Unfortunately, many people never experience these types of battles so they jump to the conclusion that fury sucks and so on. Anyhow ya I love the game, people that hate it just need to move on and leave the ones who still love it alone.

@ Mojawk; I think its ridiculous that you call Fury crap because you dont like the changes. Its people like you that are making the game harder to play, because you wont log on. The only reason people are waiting around is because people are finding it hard to adjust to the new armor etc.

I know where you're coming from, because the first few days I though "Oh crap, now im gonna suck even more", but I am one of those people who went from Bad to Better with the AotC patch. I wish the 'good' people would come back, because its becoming more competitive recently, but it seems most of you dont even want to think about giving it another chance...

On the bright side, in the past week 2 KoD people have been playing while im on, Citizen Snip and Zuika.

@ Brone; That was an awesome 2 rounds of 4v4 today, You kept shutting me down, and it hurt to be the first to die so much haha, but yeah I would agree Genocide is one of the better clans at the moment, and your 4v4 group is really organised. The only thing i would suggest is replacing lipton, he goes down too quick lol.

I think Diend made a really good post, as corny as it was. I still have the same passion for Fury that I had when it started, and Im really looking forward to whatevers coming in the future.

Dont care what anyone says. This game is pure brilliance. The charge concept is unbelievably smart and with the added charge manipulation makes it even MORE brilliant. Graphics r sick, gameplay is sick, concept is sick, the pvp itself is soooooooo awesomely fast paced and u dont spend ur time fighting bots.

Been a fan of rpg's and fps's my entire life and this is a mix of both - it has the fast paced action of say quake and the visuals/character development of an RPG.  The same concept would be really cool in reverse.. if u had like an Unreal Tournament character that u develop with items and then join a server and battle it out.

The character development is very smart aswell.. so many possible equipment/spell variations it almost seems limitless, which is where games like Wow fall short (along with many other issues). In this game there is no such thing as a perfect build as there will always be somebody with a build that happens to counter yours, meaning you are ALWAYS having to re-think ur character build and restructure, which does make this game limitless and arguably timeless.

The very fact that u can log on and start fighting people is exactly the type of thing this game was made for. A quote i saw on another forum sums it up well.. it went somethin like 'When I just wanna kick some ass.... i just wanna kick some ass.'

In short, no matter how many people bag this game, they cannot deny that Fury provides players with an unmatched, heart pumping, purely pvp-based game with endless possibilities - including character re-structuring, player tactics (active/reactive fighting) and a visually pleasing setting that will leave you wanting more.

P.S can u flamers please give it a rest, this game is obviously in its teething phases and im sure we can all agree it has some amazing potential.. by carrying on like you are your ruining it for every1 including yourselves.

mojawk, how can you say they never gave the old players any benefits??? the old ornamentals are worth tons of gold, or you can just use them and have higher stats...   unless you sold them all (which i doubt) you would pwn just as much as you used to.  thats if you used to and, yes, that is a challenge.

Anyone who posts a book like that as their first/second post is obviously shilling the game.

Tried it when someone else bought it, when it actual cost money and it was bad then.

Played it again a couple weeks ago, still weak, unpolished, and just plain not good.

Many other much better shooters available now, it is not even worth playing for free....

And, companies that put out a "nearly perfect game" make money  and do not mostly go out of business and lay off the staff etc etc.

    Reality is hard to overcome.

Really now?  I can agree with you in that Fury is far from a perfect game, but saying its not even worth playing for free?  Come on now.  This game may not be as polished as quite a bit of retail games, but in the freeware gaming world, you would not come across many games that can compete with fury.  You can tell its a professionally made game, from the graphics(unless you haven't figured out you've been playing on low-render the whole time)  to the music.  I'd have to say your viewpoint on what makes a decent free game is relatively  skewed.  While there are probably a few games completely free that supercede in Fury's quality, it is far from lacking the worth of playing for free.  Lets be real here, please.

Hi I've got FURY on my pc it's ok, but it lost it place on my pc to another PVP game which took less space, had cleaner graphic's and faster gameplay,( a real thumb breaker as it were.) Fury was ok, but this game is better EXteel from ncsoft, real fast and furious game play, if you ever luv'ed playing Armored core or Unreal tournament,( the 1st one) this would be the game for you, upside or downside, there is no 3d common area only a lobby in EXteel, so you won't find it on the MMORPG.com gamelist as a mmorpg it's only a mmog, so what I'm say here is if you like FURY then you should also give EXteel a go, should point out that it is still in beta and F2P.

What I liked about FURY, no real levels to speak of, the way the inventory worked, very origanl would luv to see this style inventory in other games, graphics the unreal engine, can't go wrong with a unreal game engine.

What I didn't like about FURY, the combat, found it to be very frustrating, especially when you are using a sword, and everyone else is casting from range, makes the game more about ranged combat than up frount melee combat, the main thing i had a problem with, was the lag and the bugs.

In a nut shell FURY still needs lots of work.

For a game that was released as a P2P game, and flopped at it, to have to try to justify it as worthy of F2P is even funnier.

I was going to say that very thing, but you beat me to it....

Maybe the guy didn't know it started off as a full retail title and sucked it. Ah well...

My unofficial opinion of why retail flopped is a combination of advertising failure and critical problems, and some dream chasing.  They relied mostly on word of mouth, some net ads and limited placement in stores.  (I never found it in my suburb.. I did hear of billboards in Australia though)

FURY's deadline, like many other titles had already been pushed back many times, however they didn't have the funds to continue delaying it - it had to be put together and sent out.

I haven't played or tested a single title that went perfect at launch, there were always problems. FURY's were a pain.. People getting 'frozen' either from alt-tabbing, or being stuck in a queue limbo, Aria's billing having problems, and assorted other small issues.   However those players who got frustrated and left took the problems they had with them and told others.  This is where word-of-mouth bit in the ass, initial critics at release were harsh on FURY, (many often trying to stick it to specifically one genre, which it's not) so those who heard from frustrated friends and reviews never sought after FURY much, there wasn't the TV or other huge media push to replenish players.

Early sales were smaller than they needed to be to recover from all that was spent on it, analysts had to see where AURAN was going, so they began to prepare the chosen content pack in preperation.  It did create some gameplay issues many disliked, but it kept the project afloat, while we heard of the disbanding of development, and a small team to continue working on the game.  From what I know, most are on other projects as well, however they are still on board.  I've been getting fast access to tech help as well, (more chosen keys) but as for future plans, I haven't been let in on yet.  I do remember hearing some news may be coming from the GDC, I'll poke about any rumors about that.

I've been playing the last several days, and it's been doing well, many warzones going of each type, though during the late US hours it does quiet down, vortex is a work to get off the ground.  There is a population there though, old and new players who are using the FURY store, helping it keep going.

Maybe it is better now, I can not argue with you on that because I don't really play anymore, and would rather wait and see if more than a couple well-placed advertising accounts for a company decide to sing this games praises.

Not sure if anyone noticed but most of the people that stick up for this game are in some way affiliated with the company.  I hope you guys do know that.

Last I heard was Fury sold about 5.000 copies worldwide.

<<<< not affiliated with auran.  the q's are much better, you can easily start a game by just saying q 4v4, or q tex in a chat channel.  you can get a game going in 1-5 minutes.  the 1v1 q times are almost non-existent.  old players should come back and take advantage of the old gear.  the population does fade in the evening hours of the US, but it seems to be slowly building a new base of players over time.  i wish to see some improvements in the near future and to see this "huge overhaul" on the forums.  i'm sure systi will keep us fury-faithful updated.

Oh, and I was one of the silly ones who jumped the gun and sold all my old gear, except pre-order.  Mainly because I needed the slots for proc testing, but still.  Bit irked now about it though, though I'm still under the impression there is a phasing out plan for the old gear.

systi is there any news at all from the dev team? you are the only person that would have any chance of getting in contact with them as they dont answer tickets and the forums are still down, nearly 3 months now with the devs hiding away. are they just letting the game die?

naw team is still here and kicking.  Many are on other projects as well, but there is drive to keep it going.  I believe reopening the forums was going to be checked into shortly perhaps, so that should help.  Last I heard they were never meant to be down this long, but got lost in translation.

Been hearing that one since they took 'em down. Can only repeat it so many times before it sounds like an empty tin can.

<--not affiliated w/ auran in any way BTW...

I simply believe fury is amazing...a must-try for nearly anyone...Everyone who complains about it is only complaining because the patch made their old gear obsolete...but now, it is worth tons and tons of $$$...Seriously, this game is amazing.

For a game that was released as a P2P game, and flopped at it, to have to try to justify it as worthy of F2P is even funnier.

I was going to say that very thing, but you beat me to it....

Maybe the guy didn't know it started off as a full retail title and sucked it. Ah well...

Being one of the consumers that paid the full 50 U.S. dollars I'm more than aware of Fury's standings throughout its lifetime.  And to the comment about justifying it as a worthy F2P game, I'm not justifying anything, but simply straightening out some outrageous comments that are just not true. Being that it may not make the quality of a retail, it far surpasses many games that are F2P.  I don't see how this is my justifying anything, I am doing no more than stating the fact that Fury's graphics, gameplay, and the overall production of it is far greater than the average F2P game.  If you do not think so, then all I have to say is have fun with Graal or Tibia.
