WHen I played DAOC I was a blademaster, and absolutely loved the class...so any idea on what the closest match to a blademaster will be in WAR?

    I think you mean SWORDmaster.

But yea swordmaster is probably your best bet.

    Bollocks!

swordmaster doesn't dual wield, they typicaly use great swords (2h)

classes that can dual wield are:

    choppa

    hammerer

witch hunter (1 gun 1 sword)

possibly maradur (1 morph hand and 1 real weapon)

    witch elf

the closest to the blademaster is more then likely therefore be the hammerer, but not blades but hammers. medium armor with dual wield.

Thanks for the responses guys. As far s the disciple goes, I think its more of a buffer class as opposed to damage dealer. Could be wrong though...

Indeed Disciple is a healer class.

As for the Blademaster, closest thing will probably be the Marauder.

Just to clear up something, the melee dps classes in WAR will not be wearing medium armor.

    Tanks - Heavy

    Support - Medium

    Melee DPS - Light

    Ranged DPS - Extra Light

As for the dual weilding ones, I believe they all dual weild (to some degree). The high elf has yet to be announced, and the witch hunter I am unaware of (pistol in one hand, sword in another seems to be the general idea, but not sure about ranges and such), but the rest seem to all have the ability to use 2 melee weapons at once.

i think the swordmaster can dual wield also, some of their sketches have them holding a sword on each hand.

Taken from the official Marauder class description: "Barbaric, medium-strength armor."

Taken from the official Hammerer class description: "Well armored in medium weight armor"

Its variable. Different melee DPS classes play differently from other melee DPS classes.

I don't deny that fact. I am just merely pointing out from the August 2007 podcast where it lists the archtypes and specifically says "Armor: Heavy" (and etc) as I posted before. I also remember from a few interviews that the melee dps were described as wearing "light" armor, which is how they are able to chase down the ranged/support fighters for the kill.

If it does turn out to be medium instead of light, I'm all for it. I'm pretty sure my first character will be a melee dps class (still can't decided on where though), followed by a ranged, then support. :-)
