Will you lose interest if the game is delayed again?

Obviously there's 3 months still before the end of May launch. But, there's a lot of skepticism because with only 3 months left, there is a SEVERE lack of concrete footage of things like raids, crafting, pvp systems. A lot of the current video is just rehashes of previous videos with nothing new.

If AOC is pushed back again, will you stick with it? Or will you lose interest and jump on the wagon of another upcoming game?

delays do hurt when games are being hyped  (of which both AOC and WAR are)

but in the bigger picture, once the game is released,

    - most people will overlook delays unless its a poor product

I lost interest 2 delay ago. Now I will maybe buy it while I buy some shoes next door and have nothing else to do next week-end.

If the game gets delayed again, im buying WAR, if  WAR gets delayed (and it probably will) I am buying EVE or if Aion gets released I might try that.

I'm in dire need of a suitable replacement for WoW so I'm going to give whatever comes out first a go - either AoC or WAR.

If they release on separate dates, it could be good in a way because it means I'll get to spend a bit of time on each one before making a decision as to which one to stick with.

Personally and from what I've seen so far, I prefer the look of AoC to WAR but I'm a big PvP fan so it'll be a question of which one suits me best.

I am getting somewhat fed-up with the delays to AoC though, to the extent I don't really bother checking the official website or posting on it anymore.

if the future will bring another delay that SUCKZ...

But a crappy realse suckz even worse so,

No i will not lose interest in a game that want to be ready before it hit the stores.

I have to admit that my interest in this game was rather late in forming therefore i am not effected that much by the delays.  If the end product is anywhere near as good as it sounds then I am participating.

Any luck they will accept my Beta request.  I love trying to break games.

I used to visit this site a lot however in recent years it has become the home of negative forum posts, illogical opinions and tantrums so I visit less often.

    Played or Beta'd: UO / DAOC / Horizons / EQ2 / DDO / EVE / Archlord / PirateKingsOnline / Tabula Rasa / LOTRO / AOC / Champions / Darkfall / Mortal Online / DCUO / Rift / STO / SWTOR / TSW

At this point most of us don´t care, and hope that bugs will be fixed in patches.

It matters on how long the delay would be, say another 3 months. Maybe then i would interest in it.

I voted Yes because I will lose interest

I really think that I'd eventually purchase the game, but its a simple fact the more they delay more disinterested I become, and less excited I get each time it gets closer to release date.

Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions.

yea but they cant delay it to much, thats is so much thats its outdated before it gets released, but in the case of Aoc that would mean many years, and i doubt that would happen ;-)

They obviously have to release this year.  If it is pushed back to late 2008 it will suffer more DOOOM posts and will lose interest but it will probably still sell rather well.  If it goes beyond that I feel like it will lose many of those that are waiting for it.

I have been watching this and posting info this at our guild's site since 2005 and will continue to follow no matter what but I will definately get another game this year ... tired of WoW

So what are  you doing answering the question?

Personally I doubt I will loose interest in the game. I haven't really been following any other games that are releasing this year.  But I think it looks bad that a game continues to delay release so much just so they can do some 'tweaking'. The amount they have delayed obviously shows a bit more than tweaking going on.

Not unless the pushback date is several years down the road, and then only because funding will get cut off if that happens.

As long as this game gives what it promises i'll keep interest even though another delay would hurt pretty bad.

If it got delayed to long.. then the graphical update coming for AO might be out first.  If that happened I might just be playing AO again.. instead.

I don't think delays will make someone who was interested in this paticular game..  lose interest.  For people looking for a "replacement" to some other MMO.  They are obviously goingto buy what comes out first.

The real issue for me.. would be if a skill based game came out.  I preferred UO and yes (pre-cu) SWG to any other MMO I've played.  Then I really wouldn't want to play any level/class based game.

    That's just me personally.

I'm not going to cancel my pre-order tho.. if that answers your question from the OP.

Im w8ing for 4 games: WAR, AoC, Aion, TCoS. I will buy the first which comes out.

I honestly had to vote yes, becuase the fact that they keep having "golden" launch dates and then bam a delay.  Well that really doesnt bother me that much if i really think about it; the real reason is a ton of good ps3 games will be out by then and i will be destracted by it lol

You guys so delude yourselves.  You will loose interest if it is pushed back, what a laugh.  As long as the game is delivery top game play MMORPG capabilities people will always have interests.  If it gets pushed back people will be frustrated, bitch, scream and stop being interested in AoC for a few days.  Then the storm will pass and people will all be back and will make a poll titled, "will you lose interest if the game is delayed again?" and hope the game developers read this poll and shiver in fear and not push it back again...

Fact is I'll be interested until one of two things happen, they shut down the game, or two they release the nda and everyone says this game is AO2 and buggy as hell.  Oh or if the game is released far enough in the future that the capabilities and graphics look dated compared to the competition.

No!  Because I care about the game not  some date.

I want it to be released as Funcom's vision sees it fit.

People who say yes are killing the industry by telling developers and publishers that you care more about when it comes out than it's potential quality.

Give them the time they need to finish the product the way they want to.

I do feel Funcom's  "anouance and delay" aproach is a very poor one, but it is has happened and if it needs to be delayed again so be it.

I do actually like this date though, and hope they release in May.  Time will tell.
