I must say, if you are mostly looking into graphics and storyline, LOTRO is defienetly worth a try. The graphic engine is pretty good, I believe the game has been updated with DX10 compared to both other games. The community is pretty good and fun, although I remember back in the time, I had a level 30ish Captain and because I was always playing late at night, I had a hard time doing my community quests. (Wich are a strong part of leveling in the later-game). I must say though that the ''PVP'' options are a little bit limited.
If you are looking into PVP, I think WoW would be the best shot. Wow has proven itself over the years and is a great game. So great that some of us may have abused it and now get sick everytime we hear its name. If you havent already tried this game, I suggest you do !
For EQ2... My experience with this game is pretty short, I have heard that for raiding, this game is one of the best. I would say that if youre someone that likes having many choices (Races, classes, etc) then you may want to try EQ2. The world is huge (Sometimes too huge) and there is a lot to do in this game. (Like in the two others, actually)
Finally, the three games have a trial version wich you can try for free, if you dont have a too limited brandwith, you can download them three and choose wich one fits you !

Problem is they all offer great feautres but it's a shame they arn't merged into one mmorpg because they all have alot of faults too which let the game down. To me the faults outweight the good in each game and I end up not playing any of them.... however since i'm that bored I'm playing WOW simply because my mates play it and grouping with them for Arena PVP is very fun.
Well, from my little experience on EQ2, I wasn't TOO impressed. I could see myself getting into playing a Froglok Swashbuckler though. XD
Lord of The Rings - I have never played it. But from what I hear, it lacks what some games have; such as pvp (Which is fine if you're not a fan of pvp. But I am, however.)
So, I would say WoW is the superior game in that list. The graphics aren't as good as some of the other fantasy MMOs, but it doesn't need to be, because it has it's own look which makes it unique.
The story part is tough for me to say. Being a big WC fan in general, I really only know the WC lore best. I have never really played EQ enough to know anything about the world, and I only know the story of Lord of The Rings by the movies.
But wow is a great game that has a different approach to the whole fantasy genra. Plus, it's easy to learn and fun to play.
The moderatos seemed to have gimped my account so I can't vote on polls.
Anyway, I've played all 3... currently playing LotR right now. I'd have to say it wins the storyline category and a close second to the graphics but EQ2 I think has the better graphics. I like the voiceovers in EQ2 and think it would be cool if LotR voiced over most of their text.
I havn't played EQ2 or LotR PvP so I can't compare the three there.

Lorto lev.50 Minst, Lev.49 Burg and Hunter, lev.46 minst,lev.45 champ and 5 char's lev.20-29 with 6 GM crafters
EQ2 lev.45 zerker .lev.40 Necro and 2 lev.16-25 chars. 3 high lev.crafters
Best over all...Lotro for story line graphics, and quest line
I absolutely hate pvp really don't like it..UO ruined me from ever caring for pvp, partly because i suck at it.
That being said,I Tried Lotro monster play, and like it.It's different
Crafting...tough call EQ jeweler made me a ton of plat. Lotro crafters are good for any of your other chars items,by the time you can make something your main is a few levels above using it.
SWG's crafting pre-cu .if you did it, will ruin ANY other games crafting for you, well maybe not ruin but it will seem lacking. SWG's was that good
Solo play. Lotro, 1-50 if you want and not too hard, more fun to fellow tho.if your going to solo a game, might as well get a PS3
Things I didn't like
EQ2 was my least played,The instanced everything got me,4 instances to get across 1 city was too much for me
Wow grind, and end game'I'll qualify this in a min.
Lotro Having to swim that damn lake in Evendim
Ok..end game..To me a game is like sex,in one respect, 90% of the fun is getting there. When your there you shouldn't have to look back and say..humm,we didn't do this or that that moment is gone.and to try other things you need to start over ,which isn't bad.
Wow you need to be maxed out or very near it to get the really good items and do the high end stuff.
Can't say for EQ2 it's only 1 or about 3 games that i never maxed out on.
All 3 were fun EQ2 the least but for me it was all the instances.
I know a lot of people will disagree, but that's why we aren't all clones of one person.
I didn't touch all the points,but it's 4am here and i'm tired
I'd say EQ2 (if you want to play much, because it has tons of content) or Lotro (if you want to play not too much, because of its great graphics and lore). Wow is a stupid grind for all, didnt interest me much

first of all they patch wow like 3-4months ago and made it way easier to lvl, second I played lotro to like lvl20 and I did more grind than in wow and third I haven't play eq2 but I have ask lot of people from eq2 about leveling and they told me is more grind than wow.

Funny you would ask this since I happen to subscribe and actively play all 3. I play them for different reasons. I would have to say if I had to pick which I though was best it would have to be WoW.
like if it matter? like i sya b4 they patch wow and it easier to lvl than b4 so yeah....

Easy to level in WoW?, yea....right. ok so its not that hard to level till about 20 then its a solid grind, the reason i never got a max in the game. But anyways about the original post, ive played all three, Lotro for a little bit, but the amount ive played it, Lotro is my favorite. Just personal opion though, so you should try the free trials

thank you all for you posts and it seems im gonna go to LotRO and see how it is and if i like it continue playing it and if i dont like that i will go to WoW
I played WoW for several years and quit. Have been seeking out a new MMO for the past month and tried out both LOTRO and EQ2, even went back to EQ1 to give it another try.
I believe if you have endless time to play an MMO then EQ2 would give the most rewarding experience. If you have a life outside a virtual world, the ONLY choice is LOTRO.
WoW is full of too many kids and just not as good of a PVE experience as either LOTRO or EQ2. If you're into PVP, WoW is also not the choice since Guild Wars provides much better PVP.
Basically the best PVE game I've played to date is by far LOTRO. Its a definite winner and the planned content is incredible.
I'm playing WoW from the start (Europe) and I was playing LOTR in the beta and 14 day free trial and same goes for EQ2 (free trial).
QUESTING: WoW vs LOTRO
From the start, quests are easy to understand at both games but when you leave newbie zone at LOTRO and arive in bigger village you get confused quickly. In the moment, there are A LOT of quest givers all around you wich have quests for proffesions and on difrent ones. It's just too much for the start I say.
In WoW, number of quests increase slowly. There are a lot of chains that has nice storyline and explains you quite well where do you have to go do find / do / kill or whatever.
PROFFESIONS: WoW vs LOTRO
I found both realy great at that point. WoW has who system easier but then again it doesn't have as funny as LOTRO has like Farming (raising a tobaco for smoking and other plants). Even you can be a wood worker, choping down trees and so on. I would say that proffesions are better than in WoW.
RP: WoW vs LOTRO
LOTRO is better than WoW at that point as well in my opinion becouse like I said, you can be farmer, seeding tobaco and be a realy farmer. You can learn to play lute (or what is that type of guitar :P) for other while they are dancing and drinking bear...It's just get realy close to freedom at role-playing.
PVP: WoW
I can't tell you anything about that in LOTRO, but in WoW there is a great system. You can chose to PVP in all zones (if you are on PvP server), attacking cities, villages or killing inocent players questing (I hate that). Send choice that is chosen by many players is, to visit battlegrounds (modes: Capture the flag, Domination and two similar modes) or visitign arenas (2vs2, 3vs3 or 5vs5). For PvPing you get pvp equipment and other stuff.
Time is running out so I can't write more. I hope I helped you a bit

It's a bug just hit refresh or something.
My vote is for WoW, with EQ2 coming in a close second.
EQ2 is actually better than WoW in ALOT of ways, but the few things that make WoW better win the cake.
I didn't like LotRO.
I can't vote either. The vote button disappears while the page is loading.

Lorto lev.50 Minst, Lev.49 Burg and Hunter, lev.46 minst,lev.45 champ and 5 char's lev.20-29 with 6 GM crafters

I played LotRO and WOW, and would say that WOW was the better of the two, especially if you want to do any PVP. (still not great though)
