Why would a small company take the time to answer questions that you can answer on your own? For the obvious reason that not all questions can be answered by the potential inquirer, that’s why they are making the inquiry in the first place. They have a website up with the job opennings they have, you can check it out if you like. Yeah you can “check them out”, but they don’t seem to respond to anyone who does so. There is no company that answers every email they recieve. But there does appear to be a company that does not answer any email they receive.
We all know DarkFall is a small company so they dont have anyone that answers email. Pathetic and totally ridiculous excuse, And I suppose when the game release’s they will they instantly gain the capacity and expertise to start answering all inquires about billing and technical support problems etc. in a professional and punctual manner?, lets hope so.

I bet if you emailed Microsoft or SOE or any other large company, they would not email you back or you would get an auto responsed email back. If that was true then people would be justified in making criticisms, but at least they would potentially get an automated response instead of nothing. But in this situation when similar criticism’s are made about Aventurines terrible PR they get attacked by supporters desperately attempting to make excuse’s or justifications for the very same bad behavior. Double standards.
I challenge any of the Darkfall supporters to attempt to contact Aventurine on any of the addresses available and then post the reply’s they receive, then you can prove that these allegations are false. Before anyone makes anymore childish accusations of fraud or wasting developers time, you can simply ask what job openings they have available, if you can arrange an interview or a visit or if they have a press pack etc, normal company’s deal with these sort of requests everyday.

What are you taking about? you can inquire about anything in your email does not have to be about arranging a visit, all you have to do is prove they respond to emails, content or purpose is irrelevant. I've gotten replies from companies like Blizzard and Turbine. I'am glad someone there feels that I'am important enough to reply too.
But then again , Aventurine doesn't even have a support department so I guess they're extremely short handed when it comes to that...... But even though they cant hire anyone to answer emails they will easily develop a MMORPG of the like which has never been seen before...

There's a pet troll/stalker we've had with us for about 3 years, the ex webmaster of a now apparently defunct MMO project, who's been sending private messages through our boards, and posting for whoever will listen, claiming that Darkfall is/was up for sale among other things. This of course, along with everything else he's been saying over the years has nothing to do with reality.
This guy has been sending us hundreds of email messages for about 3 yearsfrom his home computer, apparently unaware that hotmail reports the originating IP. The content of the emails ranges from hate mail, to spam about his game, to threats, to childish attempts at impersonating publishers, investors etc. He's also been diligently, trying to slander Darkfall on game boards, again from his home PC and using a lot of aliases.
While this has been amusing, in a village idiot kind of way, it's about time we clarified for those who are susceptible to buying into this pathology. This kind of thing has happened before, and it's extremely sad to see the ugly face of what some people think are competitive practices.
Up until now, the Darkfall official board moderation policies have been focused on allowing everyone to freely express their opinions about the game. This is in sharp contrast to most other MMO communities which are very strongly moderated. This freedom however has been taken for granted and taken advantage of by a few people. I'm afraid that we'll consider suggesting stronger moderation of the boards if this trend continues.

I have lots of credibility ... everything I say can be backed up with either facts or just plain dumb commen sense.
And you do realize that it's very easy to hide your true IP if you want to right? All you have to do is use a proxy server.... so whoever that was sending them mails obviously didn't care about their IP or was too stupid to hide it.
Did they check The MMO Gamer IP too and decide to not reply because they thought it was some big bad webmaster or something? It's true though that the Aventurine boys have been the targets of many jokes in the past by developers like Age of Conan for example and god knows who else...

Thats what that video makes me think of.
I mean if the game comes out with 1/10th of what is claimed there. If it only delivered on skill based, open pvp that was fun. I would check it out at least. But anytime I see claims like that I just can't take it serious. But thats a fan movie so hopefully they are not promising all that.

hehe...a little harsh. I guess that 28 is a AoC fanboi who needs a target for his fustration on either RL or game problems. He comes across as a creepy stalker type but I think he have some commen sense built in.
What is an interesting theme here is why AoC needs to attack DF. I suspect that back in the days Razorwax and Funcom had their clashes over investors money. Funcom "Owned" Norway in the small gaming marked and pushed Razorwax out. This "victory" may be one source of the incredible arrogance of Funcom. My personal theory is that the former Razorwax dudes would love nothing better than to outcompete AoC. Aventurine keeps their cards hidden to compete and if AoC have a sucky launch, Aventurine sweep in to pick up fustrated ex-AoC fans.

Thank you for pointing that out, and there is an apparent reason for this Age of Conan is an item gring fest with no meaningful pvp to speak of. All this talk about how great the pvp would be in AOC was mostly smoke screen that Funcom pulled in order to put the pvp community into a false sense of security.
Don't worry though the secrets pretty much out, Age of Conan could delay the game until 3rd quarter 2009 and it still would mask the horrible mechanics that the developers used to sugar coat their item based grindfest with new eye candy. The only thing AOC has going for it is finishing moves, this is the only feature I even deem worthy of mentioning.

We really didn't think we'd ever need to explain the obvious, but sadly a few of you have been asking:
There's a pet troll/stalker we've had with us for about 3 years, the ex webmaster of a now apparently defunct MMO project, who's been sending private messages through our boards, and posting for whoever will listen, claiming that Darkfall is/was up for sale among other things. This of course, along with everything else he's been saying over the years has nothing to do with reality.
This guy has been sending us hundreds of email messages for about 3 years from his home computer, apparently unaware that hotmail reports the originating IP. The content of the emails ranges from hate mail, to spam about his game, to threats, to childish attempts at impersonating publishers, investors etc. He's also been diligently, trying to slander Darkfall on game boards, again from his home PC and using a lot of aliases.
While this has been amusing, in a village idiot kind of way, it's about time we clarified for those who are susceptible to buying into this pathology. This kind of thing has happened before, and it's extremely sad to see the ugly face of what some people think are competitive practices.
Up until now, the Darkfall official board moderation policies have been focused on allowing everyone to freely express their opinions about the game. This is in sharp contrast to most other MMO communities which are very strongly moderated. This freedom however has been taken for granted and taken advantage of by a few people. I'm afraid that we'll consider suggesting stronger moderation of the boards if this trend continues.

Opps I guess I cracked the case once again, i think it's time for 28days and all his dozen or so varied personalities to once again bow out and start a new account. I am eagerly awaiting the same crap to be posted again and again, by another guy with a total of 3 posts.
Damn if he's talking about me i'am really honored.. I'd be like a darkfall celebrity or something. too bad I'am not a webmaster and never sent hundreds of mails to anyone.

I have lots of credibility ... everything I say can be backed up with either facts or just plain dumb commen sense.
And you do realize that it's very easy to hide your true IP if you want to right? All you have to do is use a proxy server.... so whoever that was sending them mails obviously didn't care about their IP or was too stupid to hide it.
Did they check The MMO Gamer IP too and decide to not reply because they thought it was some big bad webmaster or something? It's true though that the Aventurine boys have been the targets of many jokes in the past by developers like Age of Conan for example and god knows who else...

What is an interesting theme here is why AoC needs to attack DF. I suspect that back in the days Razorwax and Funcom had their clashes over investors money. Funcom "Owned" Norway in the small gaming marked and pushed Razorwax out. This "victory" may be one source of the incredible arrogance of Funcom. My personal theory is that the former Razorwax dudes would love nothing better than to outcompete AoC. Aventurine keeps their cards hidden to compete and if AoC have a sucky launch, Aventurine sweep in to pick up fustrated ex-AoC fans.

Thank you for pointing that out, and there is an apparent reason for this Age of Conan is an item gring fest with no meaningful pvp to speak of. All this talk about how great the pvp would be in AOC was mostly smoke screen that Funcom pulled in order to put the pvp community into a false sense of security.
Don't worry though the secrets pretty much out, Age of Conan could delay the game until 3rd quarter 2009 and it still would mask the horrible mechanics that the developers used to sugar coat their item based grindfest with new eye candy. The only thing AOC has going for it is finishing moves, this is the only feature I even deem worthy of mentioning.

Anyone actually going to accept my challenge and simply send a genuine email that has a relevant inquiry to one of the contact addresses and post the response to prove these allegations are false?
Or as it appears by looking at this thread is it true that anyone who wants to defend this Company has been forced to resort to attempts at character assassination, creating wild eyes conspiracy theory’s and making insults and unfounded allegations?
Noone in his right mind would try to impersionate being a potentional buyer and sending false e-mails to a hardworking small computer company.
Personally i never felt the need to e-mail them. Why should i? And why should they in any way proritate putting any workload on answering e-mails? Nah, prioritate completing the game, not answering e-mails from assholes like the one Tasos telled us about.
The interesting part here is that you still have a hard time accepting Darkfall as a existing small company working their asses off to hopefully make the best game ever created. The reason for this is above me. Whats your goal? I can understand that a small company with little earlier experience of the game industry make mistakes concerning beta release dates and so on. Even the bigger companies have had their share of this. If you read up on Darkfall developers policy concerning advertisment youll see they dont proritate boosting the game with a lot of dollars but rather develop the game as good as they can and when its finished then concentrate on some advertisment in larger scale.
I prefer this attitude before companies distributing fantasy sums on advertisment and hyping their sucky game. Just look at Age of Conan.

Again the childish accusation that I am suggesting someone should send fraudulent e-mails to waste the developers time when I have clearly suggested several times to simply only send a normal and genuine enquiry, the type that normal company’s receive everyday and respond too in a normal fashion.

If that’s true then I'm sure we will start to see some of the advertisement very soon considering the game is almost finished ,Beta announcement is coming in a few months and release is scheduled for this year according to the developers.

Are you really in a position to be critical about any other MMO considering your supporting a game that’s not even in beta yet or does not have a publisher or has been in development for 7 years etc.
