There are two Edit: community (sorry for lack of clarification, didn't mean to get hopes up) projects in place for ac2. One is an unofficial thing that can't be linked on this forum, and the other is a relaunch campaign which will be publicized around the first of march if everything goes smoothly.

There is NO possibiltiy in the future that Turbine will bring back AC2. There IS hope that there will be another AC game, but there is no reason to launch AC2 again, it's old.
The fallen kings ac2 game won't be back. It would be too costly for them to try to bring that game up todate and would yield way to little in sales.
Like others have said, there is hope that the un announced project they are working on is a brand new AC game. No one has any idea if they are working on a new AC game and what direction the franchise would be heading in. My guess is probably a mix of AC1 and 2 with alot of the same mechanics you see in DDO and LoTRO.

I've been playing around with the trial, it's certainly changed alot since the beta (which is the last time I played this). Like the mechanics of the game alot (don't like pure "level" based games, skills are good!). It's basically impossible to play with others as the community is basically all 100+ level people (and it's a very clannish insider community). Everyone relies on 3rd party plugins (decal? or dekal?) and free buff-bots (which I don't even know how to make run). Be nice if they created a new AC game, same world basic game play mechanics + new graphics, but likelihood of that seems remote to me.
As long as you aren't playing on DT or VT, you shouldn't have any problems finding some friendly people to help you. It's true you won't be able to group with them at first because of your level. Leveling is really easy now though. I know a guy who started playing a week ago and he's level 70 already.
I haven't loaded Decal in a long time, but then again I'm 275 and don't do much anymore. You don't need Decal to play, but it does make you more effecient.
Bots are not complicated. Just tell them "help" and they will tell you what to do. For buff bots you normally just tell them your class (eg. mage, ua, sword, bow, etc.) and they will buff you accordingly.
