I know this sounds like a bragging thread but i'm serious.
I just bought a new notebook. It's an Asus f3 series that features an AMD Turion Tl60 (2.0) Dual Core chip, 2 GB of memory a 160 GB HD, but it's vista home professional and an ATI 2600 HD vid card. I'm certain it'll play the game, I'm wondering on what settings and is there a chance of the notebook over heating?

I agree you should not have any problems running AoC, but your notebook will get hot. Here is a cheap solution that should help alot.

to the person who wanted to play as conan, your a twit....now on to more important matters.
Vista is a resource whore but since dx10 is coming, I figure I might as well suck it now. That and the notebook came with vista.
as for the cooling pad, I bought the belken one but that only served to heat up my notebook even more than cool it down. I think it has to do with the placement of the vents on the notebook. If I order from newegg, I don't want to have to return a pad that doesn't work and have to pay for shipping. You sure this vent will work? Also I can play dream of mirrors without problems on max setting.
Any suggestions are always appreciated, thanks.
My Antec works fine. It does match up with my laptops own fan and leaves a space between the comp and the aluminum. I have found this to be pretty important for it to work well.
I have also been know to use frozen gel packs: Rotate 2-3 at a time. When one melts grab another.. etc. Its a bit ghetto, but it works in a pinch.

and that's the aluminum one you linked to me?

I have that cooling bay and depending on you system BE VERY CARFUL WITH THE RIGHT FAN ON THE BAY!!!!!!!!! for some reason i twas directly over my intak for my processor fan (and the fan on the bay blows the opposite way) .... i am sure you can see the issue. After disconnecting that fan it worked a whole lot better and my portable has nearly the same specs. Even still it gets very hot, gotta love ole AMD. I would not play on it (or ANY laptop) for extended periods of time imohow long would you say is my time limit then? I can feel the lower right corner of the notebook heat up and a little on the right side of the keyboard. The left side is cool to the touch. It's that one corner that has me worried.
see that is the issue the right front is where your video card is, and if you notice there is no fan. I would say stay under 3 hours, or you can use the getto (but somthing i will have to try lol) style of using cooling gel lol.
I WOULD NOT ever play for more than 5 hrs at a time on a portable however. High end in a confined space is never a good thing.
This is the one I have. Works fine for me, but I dont game long on the laptop. Im sure a fan wont do much good for an extended period, but this should help you get a bit more play time.

Yes is a stupid question
Are you asking about settings? the only people that knows the possible performance issues, now, are beta testers, why dont you wait for the game to be released and test yourself? (if you are so sure you will play..)
When nothing but system apps running it shows Vista using alot of ram but when you start up a game Windows Vista does something that Windows XP cannot and will never do. It frees up memory to run that game efficiently.
I can run Crysis at full bore on my XPS Vista machine and I have no problems whatsoever. I also have no problems in MMO's either.
Vista is a killer OS but for those that are inexperienced I would stick with XP as your probably alot more familiar with it. Vista also does not bode well on systems that were built for XP. I have to admit that my system came with Vista preinstalled so I have not encountered the problems such as people who have upgraded their XP machines to Vista have had.
