you know what? Every time i look at this games graphics the more i see that it doesnt seem that graphic intensive... i mean, swg is far down, but close to it in quality. So i think yo will be fine, but i have NO clue about what i am talking about RABBENFLAVIN!
Um... I dled doom 3 yesterday.. and ran it on my comp on high settings, runs perfectly fine, like the leaked version I had before. So theres one knocked down, dont need a awesome comp for doom 3.... btw, my specs are: Amd athlon 2400+, Geforce fx 5900se, 512 megs of ram(ddr), um...o ya, DONT play doom 3 without 5.1 channel speakers, kind of miss out then.
Back to eq2..
Do you have like 50 bucks? you can get a 512 meg stick of ddr for that.. or for 100 get 2 sticks.. instead of a 1gig stick for 120 :O Medum quality btw..

I really want to play EQ2.
What do i need to play with DDR?
Buy a mobo and a Precessor? Is that it?
If you want some high quality RAM, look no further than OCZ Enhanced Bandwidth Dual Channel Series Platinum Edition 184-Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3700!
It'll run you a few hundred bucks.. but.. egh, it'll be worth it. Just make sure your mobo can handle it. ;-) It's my RAM of choice for EQ2.

Your going to need to buy a CPU, Mobo, ram- and most likely a hard drive(better to get a new hard drive when building a new pc. Here a template I've been using for cheaper pcs-
CPU: AMD 64 2800+
MOBO: MSI K8N Neo
Memory: 512(recommend 1gb) of Geil PC3200
Graphics: ATI radeon 9600 pro
Hard Drive: 100, 120, or 160gb SATA hard drive
You can find all of this on www.newegg.com, a cheap site with great service.

Yummm...
Kingston Hyper-Threading 1024mb RAM for ONLY $300.
Currently there are no MoBo's out right now that support the full speed of memory that runs at a faster mhz speed than 400Mhz i.e. DDR PC-3200. Purchaseing memory that has the capabilities of running at a different frequency is basicly a waste of money since your MoBo will force the memory to operate at a lower frequency.
The current industry standard for maximum capabilities is DDR PC-3200, if you are looking to upgrade your memory your best bet would be to go with twin sticks of the same size so that you can run the memory in dual channel mode to utilize its maximum capabilities. Ensure that your MoBo that you purchase as well supports 3200 memory and as well the capabilities of it running at dual channel, though if it supports PC-3200 then it should have dual channel capabilities.
There will be castle and dungeon seiges within EQ2 but will be restricted to smaller groups of about 24. They may be getting away from haveing 50+ people going on a raid, but that doesnt mean that they are getting rid of raiding all together. Also there have been some reports of a certain select few mobs that will actually require larger groups than 24 and be aimed at the 50+, but those will be few and very far between.
Also, there is a saying that a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. That saying applies to almost anything and most certainly applies to computers. If you have old memory that runs at a frequency of 133 and you have a cpu with a fsb of 800, the memory will affect the overall performance of the computer as well as the cpu. So saying that it is just going to be intensive upon one certain aspect of your system does not negate the fact of wether or not the piece of your system can perform at its full capabilites and as well wether or not it even will be intensive upon a certain aspect of a system is pretty presumptuous considering that it will require all parts of a system to work together to perform almost any operation.
So, in conclusion... I would recommend you consider upgradeing.
