Shouldn't you then be posting this where the dev's will actually see it? On the LOTRO forums? Or at least send Turbine a letter. I just don't know if they frequent these forums.
I haven't seen anything about pirates, I'll have to find that.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
A corsair is a privateer/pirate. If you don't know why I mention that word then you don't know enough Tolkein lore to be criticizing others about not being consistent with lore.
I'm glad you decided to delete this post. As someone who hasn't even played the game since beta, it is hard to give an accurate assessment of the game.
So many changes/updates have been made to this game since beta. I don't know about pirates in the new patch. There were a couple of small quests where you could turn in items you found on the beach for a pirate hat/eyepatch.
Personally, I love the game. Getting to meet and interact with characters like Radagast and Tom Bombadil is cool to me. I think Turbine has done a stand-up job in creating a living world (just look at the shire quests, dang hobbits and their pies!!).
But obviously it's not for everyone. It's hard to find the perfect game. I'm one of the SWG vets that got shafted with the CU/NGE and I'll probably never find a game I enjoy as much as the pre-CU star wars, but for me, personally, LoTRO rocks.
At least the OP could have checked the original story by Tolkien. Pirates are mentioned as key players in The Return of the King - actually, when Aragorn arrives with the oathbreaker army to Minas Tirith, he comes on pirate's ships - ships taken over from the dreaded pirates (allies of Sauron) by the oathbreakers....

Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.
In fact several factions of pirates are mentioned in the history of Arda. Mostly to the south of Gondor. I forgot the name of the one faction but they had some rather impressive battles against the elven ships at one point and won before being sank by a Valar summoned storm hehe.
The OP might want to look in issue 338 of White Dwarf ( Games Workshop's magazine ) dated February 2008 - if all the White Dwarf editions have the same material.
The Australian version had articles on Corsairs for Lord of the Rings game.

Corsairs and Black Numenorians (sp?) if I am not mistaken.
I must admit I was a bit confused when I first met the pirates ingame, near Brandywine Bridge, with all the standard things like eyepatches and the typical pirate hats - I expected them to look different, but then it was only a matter of time to get used to them. They were removed after a while though.
Have the pirates returned to the game? Where do they appear this time?? (*wants another eyepatch*)
"Umbar, the Havens of Umbar, city of the Corsairs" South of Harad, on the coast of the Bay of Belfalas. The be straight from the book and its maps, should anyone be wondering.

Nowhere in the quest line does it mention the word pirate. They are simply Rangers taking supplies up the Brandywine River to Evendim when they run into a spot of trouble.

At the risk of digging up an oldish post ! .
