Wow......truly impressive graphics. Moving volumetric clouds, good textures, great lighting, nice shadows, water looked good, great viewing distance gave it a "large" feel. One can only hope the gameplay has some depth to it. Too many games out there that look great, but, the depth is that of a puddle.

Amazing graphics I must say.
I'm just now starting to look this game up and getting interested in it and it's looking very promising.
Out of everything in this game the only thing that has me worried is this new combat system.
I finally get to see what controls the combat in this video.. untill now I was in the dark about how it worked.
Honestly, having 1,2,3,q,e control the direction in which you swing your weapon seems silly to me. I don't see this combat system being all that fun... but, I hope im wrong because if this game isn't awesome then there's no MMO playing for me because this is the only promising MMO coming out anytime soon in my eyes.

What was funny was the music to that part in one of the videos from the GDC the western music when they played it ;P
Is activating a combo mandatory, as in if I don't click the combo icon I can't do the combo, or is it just to help you out untill you learn the combos?
If I HAVE to click to start swinging I don't like that, not at all, it's kinda sucky sucky.
the graphics look good but the general atmosphere does remind me of VG...that and there are a couple of moments when the graphics lag spikes undermine the eye-candy in the video.

What, exactly, strikes you as VG-like in the game? Seriously lol.
Step 1. Log into VG and set all settings on maxStep 2. Choose Qualian character and wait for sunset
Step 3. Watch yellowish, gold, orange desert
Step 4. Whip out your horse and ride until you chunk - watch the stop in animation, sliding and camera skipping

People speak about Vanguard as if it's some sort of disaster of a game. I can agree that the abysmal launch helped the industry raise the quality standard for all games that followed. However, is the game in such a bad state today that people keep on bashing it, quality wise? I get the feeling that if was released this year with the original team in place, the reception would be a lot different.
But this is not a Vanguard thread so my apologies for derailing.
On topic, I haven't seen VG mount animation to compare but apart from the different engine, similarities in the artistic department can exist. I mean, if people can compare WAR to WoW, I don't see why people can't compare AoC to Vanguard.
As for the comments concerning mounts and skating...well, the latest Video I've seen is from the GDC and I didn't see mount-skating in there, or, if I did, it was so brief didn't really register.
