And yes OP, you are probably right, it could very well have to do with this second life hack.
In the future, when you hear things like this you should just change your card (get them to send you a new one).
Also, just to let you know, you can get yourself a card. They have cards where you put in 500.00 dollars or whatever to secure it and then you can use it. You can build up your credit and eventually get a regular card.
This way it's you that is responsible and not the CARD HOLDER.
You are 19. I think you are ready don't you? And if you are in college, there are programs for students to get cards. That's how I got my first card.

Ah, I see.
I would then just explain this to the card holder and take them out to a nice dinner as a form of apology.

OP is prime example of why the country is in such a credit mess..... Un-fucking-believable......
Asinine comment #2. What does the OP getting charged fraudulently have ANYTHING to do with the credit crunch? Man, how do you people make it through life?
First place if you try to tell me that the bank will not reverse the charges that is a flat out lie!
All banks will reverse any charge that is unsolicited by you. They have to it is the law. The federal reserve will fine any bank that refuses. Banks do not buck the federal reserve. The bank can certainly reverse auto charges, they are breaking the law if they do not. Letting a stupid customer service rep that is too lazy to do any work tell you a false fact is beyond silly.
All you have to do is call the bank and tell them that you did not did in any manner solicit those charges, they MUST reverse the charge, they have no choice. If you get an operator that gives you a hard time, ask for a supervisor, sometimes customer service reps give you a hard time about it because they have to answer so many calls an hour, but they really have no choice in the matter.
- just out of curiousity, what would a 19 year old need a cc for? i dont know if this is normal in America... certainly not here.. maybe when u work but u are in college right?
- so they are charging 100-400... so this has been going on for more then one month??? why wait?
- a EQ2 fee isnt 100 dollar a month
- it is very simple, if someone hacked you contact your bank and SOE and arrange things, if u dont know how to do this just phone ur cc company for more information... certainly a mmo forum isnt the place u are getting decent answers on cc fraud (no offence to everyone who wants to help ) but this also makes your story hard to believe.
If the bank or SOE refuses to undo the transactions u must take juridical actions, im sure u will get your money back. Dont blame SOE for this... yes they have "lame" games but what does that matter in this thread o_0 im sorry but i agree with some people that this story is most probably made up to discredit SOE.
MMOs currently playing: - About to play: Lord of the Rings Online Played: Anarchy Online (alltime favorite) and lots of f2p titles (honorable mentions: 9Dragons, Martial Heroes, Dekaron, Atlantica Online)
So i havent used my soe account in 2 years almost. the last billing date was late 2006. All of a sudden they have started charging 100-400$ US in the last few months!!
There is no customer support numbers, nothing. I cant stop the bank from letting them take my money, more importantly when i log on to my account there is no history of these charges! Ive looked at all the games that soe owns and ive never opened another account with them.
WTF is going on!! Please help so i dont have to close my bank account.
This is the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. You people who actually entertain this for 4 pages should smack yourself in the head with a brick. Sorry but seriously..
1. Banks can stop any kind of transaction, immediately. Unless of course it's the government then there's stipulations. They always kill the debt/CC card and send it thru to be investigated by the fraud dept. Once its found that you indeed did not go nutso on your card they credit all charges.
2. You've said the card wasn't yours later in the threat yet you clearly say it's attached to your bank account. Lemme guess your acct is in mommy's name too? Doesn't make sense and who cares.
3. You suck at this. Maybe with this information you can give it another shot for attention on another forum.

Its not uncommon here, especially for college students. There's always these guys that set up booths in the common areas of the universities with cheap giveaway junk to entice people to come over and fill out credit card apps. Hell man, this America, credit cards come complementary with a super-sized kids meal.
ugh ok ppl lets just stop responding, it is resolved. hilarious for finding my other thread about it, i didnt think i came across as quite the jerk they said i was. Whatever, these people need to stop getting so worked up about stuff and go play a video game.
it turned out to be a hacker if anyones wondering. They just by coincidence used the card for SOE, during the exact time i downloaded the trial
The forums over at SOE kept telling me that it reactivated my account when i tried the trial, which is bullshit.
