With the arrival of Resilience and Arenas, it's been ten times harder for blizzard to balance out the classes.
Especially since people want their classes to be buffed to be "easier to use in arenas".
From the most part, I can't say much about the patch. I looked at the patch notes for all the classes I play (Shaman, rogue, warrior, warlock) and they are all not too bad of changes.
I wish they would do something more with Shamans though. It seems like they are keeping them at a stagnant state and only giving them a few minor things.
I think 2.4 will be on the PTR for at least another 4-6 weeks. I am sure they have a lot of changes to balancing as well as fixing some of the bugs. I think the way the area is growing based on dailies is a great idea.
While I hate the lag and everyone crammed around the Badge vendors, this patch is a major step forward in making players feel that they can influence the game.
I play a Holy Priest and I've given up on getting upset with class balance issues. I couldn't use Mana burn in arenas before, so it didn't bother me.
The war is just starting. And it wasn't needed. If only it would have been handled correctly in the first place.
Fact is - Blizzard can't balance the game for all diffrent specs AND at the same time for diffrent kinda pvp and diffrent kinda PVE content. It will not happen in 2.4 and it will not happen in WOTLK. You will need to make a new game if you want to create balanced 2v2 pvp content. Sorry - thats just a fact.
Blizzard has now admitted they can not and will not be able to balance it this patch. They will do abit here and there but maybe u are starting to notice how thats hurting the comunity atm ?
No that's just what you think..... please just stop with the nonesense okay?
If you really don't want to play the game (and lol on the PTR), then don't play it.... It's that simple. Also post this on the Blizzard PTR forums instead of here...
I take it ur a MMORPG.com employee ? So diffrent opinions are not allowed on these forums ? But if u want to see nonsense go on the PTS and put your pet out
2.4 is now on testservers. Actually its not a test. Its a pile of things that havn't been worked on at all. Already a total of 4 players from my guild have now left the game cause of huge unbalancing issues that are coming up, both in terms of abilites and items. Class balanced is beeing tossed around from one day to another - making changes to piss ppl off - just the next day to change something else that makes ppl even more pissed. This is not what any game developer should do. There is now 3 years since WOW came out and you would have thought if they had learned SOMETHING is that you dont PLAY around with class balance. That is a capital offence in a MMO game. Im discussed to see the total lack of respect that Blizzard has shown to their players. It doesn't matter if you get 1 person offended or 10 million. You always fail if you dont carry full respect to every single one. Yet alone whole class or whole spec. To me this is a new low in history of MMOs. The biggest Game developer of mmos desides to play around with class balance from day to day. No thx
And now you notice that ? Not only Blizzard is lack of respect to players, EVERY developer does, because EVERY developer doesn´t care about players, their only interest are statistics and MONEY.You can see how faster they develope games with no quality at all and selling to players when they still in beta and plenty of bug´s and we buy it, But yes, Blizzard is one of the worst I ever meet.
Blizzard has always been loyal to their players and shown respect to them. At least compared to many other Devs. This has now changed. It seems to me this is the perfect time for new MMO to take the center stage while Blizzard sorts out this mess.
Alan0n: As long as Blizzard hasn't implemented any 2.4 PTR changes to the normal servers, they haven't yet done anything wrong.
I'm also a bit conserned about some upcoming 2.4 changes, but they have themselves told that they're using new testing method and implemeting changes to PTR as they make them. Wich means that the changes coming to there are less tested, and also means that now, unlike previously, they may purposefully imbalance something to see how players will react and adapt to that.
I trust that Blizzard is not stupid. They are intrested about money, and they won't get the money by making the players angry.
Blizzard has been doing Balancing since the launch of the game its nothing new so either get over it and quit QQing or move on to another game.K thx bye
let's take a step back here, what's the difference between public test servers and closed beta servers? answer: the server is open to everyone, not a few exclusive parties, and there's no NDA in effect. other then that, there's no difference i can precieve, the server's goals are the same. so alan, if you're logging into the test server, treat it like you've been invited to beta test a game. and with that in mind, maybe you should file a report with blizzard with your concerns and conclusions, rather then come here to lament your precieved class balance. (i'd also like to mention the fact that this is probably the last content patch before WoTLK, so they may be experimenting with some balancing issues they're about to implement due to that expension)
Wrong. Closed beta means real testing with real big changes. Open beta means usually introduction new stuff(often case in WoW PTR) or stress testing, no major changes. Usually WoW PTR is like Release Candidate, very little changes in main game is done and fixes are usually cosmetic. Giving amount of negative feedback I have heard 2.4 seems to be quite bad patch.

Any chance of getting this translated into English?
Oh, and its "disgust" actually, not "discussed", instead of giving the impression that you were not happy with that statement, you instead made it out to seem as if you wanted to sit and talk over all the bad with Blizzard.
I suggest staying in school, and playing less video games, strictly my personal opinion of course.
And you "kind" sir, should move back in with mom and dad, and learn some basic respect for others. Ever occured to you, that not all are born and raised with English? Ever occured to you, that some people dont even have it in school? My guess would be no, you have no such knowledge, obviously seen from your post there. But tell you what, why dont you go learn another language fluently, then come mock others about their language skills.
*The global cooldown on casting totems has been reduced. It is now 1 second instead of 1.5
*Flametongue Weapon now reduces the effectiveness of healing spells on your target by 50%. Lasts 5 seconds and refresh every hits.
*Toughness now Increases your armor value from items by 2/4/6/8/10% and reduces the duration of movement impairing effects on you by -10/20/30/40/50%.
*Shamanistic rage now let you regenerate mana equal to 30% of your attack power instead of 15. Duration reduced to 15 seconds. (Was 30 seconds)

And OP was complaining that shamans will get huge nerf on the next patch, and even claiming that the developers abuse their position and power while nerfing shamans. Doesn't look like much nerf to me.
And Alan0n: About that Leiah -character: About a year ago when the huge druid tanking nerf came, I had a debate with one player playing druidi. He predicted that Blizzard was nerfing druids too much, and would reverse part of the nerf later on.
It turned out he was right. Does that mean that the player I debated with had some inside influence to Blizzard and abused his power to make those changes happen?

Tonight I did a /who 70 rogue = 49+ players
/who 70 shaman = 11 players.
That alone should tell you something's @#$%ed up with class balance. Speaking from a PvP standpoint.
Yeah, ain't no lie... Shamans are in a bad way atm... I feel for them, alot.
that analogy was not pointed at the OP, nor the OP's topic, it's in my sig...
Here is part of the new low

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
Now thats a true PTR
