    That's an "old" website doesn't count as far as I know you need to go here www.eventide.net . That site is before the "official" developers became bankrupt due to the lack of players, it was recently resurected by a number of fans, for free...

    But that's old, I still think it's free. That is a fansite, i think.

    the page at themis group is old,.. too old

    but roe will not be free to play forever. the game will actualy introduce some limits to free play very soon.  like limit of nonpaying people online at a time and/or limit on max level you can get without "donating"

    and why should god games be free? the game cost some money to develop, it was milions of dollars in the lifespan of rubies of eventide being 10 years when it started as a mud. If a game is worth your time, it should be worth your money.

    But, I can even play it as of now, when I do start to play it, "The server name or address cannot be resloved, and I can't play. As well as that, the updates are down at the site. How am I going to play this?

    go to the site, theres additional files that need to be downloaded. i had the same problem

    I'll save you the time. It's not worth it even for free. I can't think of any of the free games that are worth the time it takes to download them. Many of the pay games are even worth it, frankly.

    Since the game is now run by former players and devs, they were running off somewhat "cheap" servers since that was enough for them until an admin re-listed them on mmorpg.com and a couple of thousand  ppl or somethign tried to acces the site and download the files. Which probably caused their server to max out their BW and Data limit for the month(?), which mean upgrade which meant $$$ and since it's free ( for now anyway ) patience is the key.

    exactly.

    unfrotunately one of the members being so kind to offer some bandwith exceeded his limit by 1 TB which caused him to pay about 250 USD extra...

    The site wil be back asap. the download is available from a czech (my) mirror at http://bonusweb.idnes.cz/download/ostatni/rubbies.html (one big file ncluding all the patches and the two extra files which have to be copied as last into the game folder) new installer in one file without all the hassle will be online on monday which is not as fast as i would like but thats as good as it gets.
