I think that means a lot of people applied, hoping to join the beta. We do not know how many are actually in the beta.

i think what it really means is that a lot people created more than 1 account.
It should say 600,487 Beta Applicants, but only 2k Testers.
IMO the beta for this game is going to suck in that AOC will be released when it goes out into Open beta. Poeple will have to balance the race to lvl 80 AOC and Test out War's Beta fully. If this happens I for one will most likely stick to playing AOC and WoW as I will have no time for all 3.
This is assuming that AOC isn't another Vangaurd.

All MMO's have grinds. If you don't like to Grind then MMO's are not for you.

your assuming everyone is waiting to play AoC that is waiting to WAR. I have no desire to play AoC in any fashion.
Im not sure what your point is but you are pretty much making complete assumptions. I have no interest in AoC at all. Its to raid needy at PvE end game for my personal tastes and the rest only slightly makes me curious. No offense to AoC but im just not interested in it at all and I know I'm not alone (but then again I do know plenty interested in just AoC or both games).
I do think it'll do really well with the people who've been clamouring for four years or more. I get really tired of people trying to pit the games against each other when its obvious they're not in competition for audiences.
There's millions of MMO players in the world I'm more than sure there's enough to stretch between both games especially considering the diverse audience its made for.

600k and i'm still not one of em. i usually have pretty good luck getting into betas not so with war
600k people that have applied for beta not 600k that's in the beta. I don't know how many who are in the beta but I would guess on about 2k or so.
I think it is funny that one of the users in this thread has stated that there are likely multiple people who have created more than one account. Would you like to point me out to any current mmorpg beta with an application that you think people didn't apply multiple times to?
very true i have no question in my mind that people have made more then one account for themselves...however that is still a great number..and i am still waiting for that email...
Im hoping that the comic gets me into the beta.

Even if 150,000 people signed up 5 times that is still a ton of applicants.
And i believe in an interview recently they said there were going to add up to nearly 15,000 people into the beta test.
