Will FFXI lagg?...

in Final Fantasy XI

on my computer? ok i admit it my computer is crap, crap crap crap crap crap crap....more crap.....crap...anyway beside the point. i dont really know anything about it cuz i just got it off my sister to usee until i get my new one (4 xmas =(  ) from what i remeber the game requires a 800mhz processor? well mines got a big sticky label on the front that says 633............ok im not good with computers so let me put in in simple terms....it plays SWG (takes a bit to load, but it plays with some lagg) and locks up after about 4 hours (usually, someitmes it just lasts the whole day) so since it plays SWG will it play FF? image

sry 4 the horible description of my computer (but again im no good with em) LONG LIVE ME CRAPY COMPUTER!!!!.......at least till xmas anyway......imageimageimageimage

    figures i phrase it wrong....but what i mean is will it completely lagg to a point where its impossible to play or move or do anything? or will it just lock up after 5 seconds in.  SWG takes a bit to load, but doesnt lock up 4 awile or sometimes never at all.

    I didnt even have a 1/10th of the lag in FFXI  that I had in SWG. (PC lag, not internet lag)

    Were times where if I had not rebooted in about 4-5 hours, in SWG, and ran into a town   I would get bad stuttering... never had that once in FFXI.      FFXI has some things to prevent this.  Like in Jeuno, there will be hundreds of people but it will only render so many of them  to keep it from lagging you.  You will still see them on your radar as blue dots  but they won't be drawn on screen unless you get closer to them.

    Thats the only place where that really happens though... at the jeuno auction house.   Its much better then slowing your machine down.

    o well guess ill jsut go out and buy it, find out my self. im sure it will run if SWG did. WHO LIKES MY NEW AVATAR?! image

    if it supports the pixel shading and bumpmapping and all the other geeky stuff that SWG requires   I would give it a 95% chance that FFXI will run it and if so  would even say it would run it way smoother.

    Why not try the FFXI benchmark tool on their website? Just pick the low graphic option and see what your score is. They list different score ranges and tell you what you can expect from it.

    And on the PS2? The machine wont lag but what about the internet conection? its 56K I think. That'S what I have and I wonder if it'll lag.
    (I also heard that it wouldn't because the transfer rate is caped at 56K, but I din't trust that hehe)

    If you see me walking towards you, be at guard. If you also see my Blade, you should concider fleeing.
