Hello everyone,

I'm a long term WoW player, who has spent the time since release playing on an RP server. However the RP is a joke these days, it's getting to me just how often you see someone with a retarded name, or are roleplaying while some nub bounces around you spamming /LOL....

 

Could someone recommend a game with a healthy RP community, enforced roleplay (yeah yeah I know, dream on) and preferably fantasy based?

    Thank you - the trial is downloading at the moment. Are there specific servers noted for good RP?

    Lotro also has a fantastic RP server and a brilliant mature community too !

    For Everquest 2, i believe the server you want to check out is Antonia Bayle.  Anyone please feel free to correct me on that. It's been a while since i've played EQ2. 

    Lord of the Rings Online also has a great RP community as stated before. 

    If you're open to other games with good RP communities that might not be fantasy based, just say so. Can name a few. :)

    Please do, I'm not very experienced with non fantasy stuff (have played Eve Online and a bit of tabula rasa).

    You might also want to try out D&D Online.People there seem mature, altho you're kinda limited to what you can do.The best game for RPing imho is def LotRO.Music,campfires,housing with neiborhoods,customizable clothing etc, and a non instanced world to explore.

    yes ab is the best server. always on heavy status 24/7 and a good comunity :)

    Hmm, I tried D&D but found it somewhat difficult to find groups - that is, there was very little social interaction, the groups I got in were in-loot-out-disband type of groups. I saw very little role play while there - perhaps I wasn't looking in the right places.

     

    The only thing that puts me off LOTRO is, ironically, the rich backstory - visions of roleplaying only for some Tolkien loren@zi to say 'Actually, I think you'll find Mirkwood is south of here, not north.' or 'Elves would never eat fish on a Tuesday' or such ;)

    Have taken the plunge and bought LOTRO, and the trial for EQ2 has FINALLY downloaded. Fingers crossed!
