It looks good. I wanna see the female avatars though. This is where developers seem to have a problem. Most games the female avatars are not that good.
In particular I would be curious to know if there are any long hair styles. I hate short hair in real life. It's a major turn off. What's wierd is almost every guy I talk to also loves long hair, and yet we get short hairstyle after short hairstyle in games.
Also it would be interesting to know if they will have the ability to wear clothes merely for appearance while retaining the stats of whatever gear they have equiped. As an example, book 12 of lotro. From an RP perspective I love being able to make my character look bad ass without having the visual effect ruined by a bad armor graphic or color. LOTRO and EQ2 both have this feature and it is such a cool one I would love to see it become common place.
Long hair is in, in different styles, Long Curly or Straight. I asked about this on the community trip and was told there will be some variety. I had to ask as my wife brought up the same question to ask before I left!
About the clothes, there are social clothing which you can wear over your armor, not sure about the armor stat remaining though sorry.

Emgrossed forsure, hoping it will hold me for a while. But I think I will carry on posting news and such. Im really interested in making some videos with in game footage at release too, bit of action, bit of RP, just have some fun really. I'll also be doing this in War too as my guild has gone their too.
Just hope the game turns out ok, it's looking like it has a good chance of meeting and exceeding my expectations in area's. But still its having a rough ride to get the game out.
Well if anyone can ensure some good footage comes out, I don't think I've seen anyone else on the boards more qualified than you. You definitely have a knack for the stuff. I'll be watching for it!
As for the game, I hope it does meet your expectations because you have done a crapload of work for it and you deserve a little in return, dont you agree?
Ok, back to hibernation. don't summon me again! i'm just an observer now, theres plenty of other people that have filled my position since I left. I'm too busy playin betas now to screw around on boards.

i figured as much... but it just simply doesn't appeal to me.. forgive my sense of vanity, but i only like playing as someone i could find remotely attractive

I think I will have to make a female / Older looking with a broken nose just for the hell of it!!
I can't wait to get my hands on the character generator, it looks great! Does everyone HAVE to have a giant tat on their breast though?

Yea the Tat is a slave marking I believe to show your branded. You can pick lots of different markings though.
I love detailed character generators... a lot.
Heck, I enjoy making D&D characters. Rolemaster characters... Champions characters.... Shadowrun characters........ Rifts characters! (Had to make lots of these since they died so much)..........
Can you start with your fresh? I'm not a fan of tattoos personally, and would hate to have to subject my poor character to unwanted flesh art.
Can you remove that "slave" tattoo later in game? Or right at the start (please Funcom! my char will carry around a receipt instead stating he's a slave instead of a tattoo!)
Wish Funcom could split off the character generator off and let it be downloadable for us poor fools who aren't in beta yet.
The video only made it harder to wait. It looks great. What's the big deal about having a tattoo, it fits the lore of your character's back story and its not like you can't cover it with a shirt of some sort.
