Sound problem.

woolf14woolf14 Member UncommonPosts: 23

Hello everyone,

I just entered the game, but I am experiencing some sound problems. This doesn't happen with other games.

The problem is that the sound seems laggy, for example I cast a spell and the sound doesn't play. But after that when a mob hits me the sound plays okay. Also, when I am moving I can hear the sound on the ground, but it suddenly stops, then starts again and so on.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Assure that you have the latest audio drivers for your system, while you're doing that check your video and directx versions as well.

Try defragging the hard drive and see if that improves audio performance, and if the problem persists contact Turbine support as they may have some additional help for you.

Where were you at when you had these problems?  There are places that do have sound issues. A couple that come to mind are the towers in Fornost and some places inside the Garth Argawen instance.  I haven't been to both of those since book 12 has been released, so it's possible they've been fixed.

Whenever I've had some sound issues, it's only been localized to certain geographical locations.  If I go to a different area or logoff and then login back in... it's fine.  I think it's just some lag that occurs when there are a lot of things going on at the same time.  For me, if I use lower settings and avoid using the in-game chat... just in those areas... then it's fine.

Otherwise, check on the official forums and see if anything has been posted.  If not, post a thread yourself and see if someone can help you out.  Good luck.

It's probably the lag,I will try lower settings.I do have the latest sound drivers and so on.

    Thanks for the assistance.

Are you running it through the hardware or software option? Try switching it. Then again it could just be lag.

Yep, switch to software rendered. Couple people I know had same problem. I think they were not using a sound card and just using their motherboards sound was the thing they all had in common. Switching to software rendered fixed it for all of them. Im assuming your having the same bug.
