I bought the game this morning and took the day off from work Amazing game to say the least. I played through the first 5 levels, however havent tried the on-line part yet. Is it PvP, or Cooperative ?
For those looking for a thrill, you gotta try this game. It reminded me of Doom 1 as its revolutionary and actually made me flinch a few times. Once I even hit my hand on the underside of my desk as I jumped a bit from a nasty beast. Definitely something yu gotta experience. Especially if you're like me and bored to death from the less than spectacular MMORPG we have to play (especially SWG).
Also, its intense graphics wise but mid lvl machines can handle it. I run a AMD 2000 system with an ATI 9600 128mb Video Card and 512mb Ram and it ran fine. Course I didnt have all the eye candy turned up. Even though, graphics were breathtaking.

good point about doom 3. you say its like doom 1 eh? doom 1, the beginning of scary fps's. doom 3, redefining a scary fps.
so, your vid card is one of the higher-powered ones right? and you got no jerkyness? i got major jerk here, but i think its just from my processor speed. should run perfect on xbox.

lol but why put SWG or SOE Sucks statement in virtually every thread you make including the ones that has nothing to do with SOE whatsoever? Thats a little odd.
Let it go. Everyone knows you think it sucks....let it go or place SWG sucks in a more appropriate thread that has something remotely to do with SOE or SWG or even mmorpgs

I was really dissapointed that they didnt have a 2 player coop online mode. I used to play doom on network at my webdesign class in hs (class of 04 woot). We had major fun with 4 people playing threw it. I hope they are gonna add an update or mod for that.
ive also gotten doom 3 thats some scary stuff lol but i didn tknow it was online play... is it?
yeah

So no coop mode?
Thats sad then, doom and quake being the mother of good coop FPS games.

The X800 XT Pro edition has been unofficially clocked as twice as fast as the 9800 Pro by Maximum PC Magazine.
Next Gen indeed.
And I only got a glimpse of the little multiplayer button last time I saw it. I've only played single player so far and have found it appealing enough to not worry about multiplayer yet. Whatever you do, don't cheat and get the BFG9000 right away, it'll spoil the game for you!

Well played it for about 4 hours today and unfortunatley it's bored me silly already. No problems playing it, silky smooth at 1280x1024 ultra detail (on an X800XT), sound, great, graphics lovely. But the game, it's just, well, dull! It starts off all nice, the spooky darkness, flashlight, building up a great atmosphere.
But after you've spent hours shooting the same old mobs, running around the same looking rooms it gets very very dull. The best bits are the parts where you get to go outside, but they only last about a minute whilst you hunt the airlock
The game isn't exactly tough either, i'm far from a kick-ass FPS player (they're not my fave genre anyway), but in 4 hours play or so (cant remember the level name, but it's the one after you meet the bravo team guy who gives you the comms card) I only died two or three times. The shotgun is all you need, run close, fire, booom. Grenade is only any use against spiders and the plasma rifle is far too powerfull. Yeah I could play it through again on a more difficult setting, but if the game failed to excite me I fail to see how making it harder would make the game more varied.
Why oh why didnt they include a co-op mode like the xbox is going to have in the PC that? that would have made things much better imho, there's something great about walking through killing zombies with friends
I'm sure that die-hard doom/FPS fans would love, it's back to basics FPS, but i've come to expect more from my games these days, a level of interaction that just isn't present in Doom3.
So my rating, 9/10 for the graphics, but 6/10 for the game.
