Although not quite the performance of a $2000 gaming desktop, it brings laptops that much closer to console performance... HDMI, 5.1 surround sound, Crysis on a laptop?

Supposedly the GF9 are due to retail next week at about us$600. (at least it is smaller than the GF 7900 gx2)

The GF 9800 GTX should showup at about us$400 by the end of the month.

The GF 9800 GX2 will cost considerably more. (30% faster than 8800 ultra, 90% performance increase over GF 8600 gts)

Quad SLI might hit one Teraflop performance (the R600 hits 450 GFlops, G80 330 GFlop,) but that 2KW power supply looks alot more necessary.

Ahh, I was gonna be like look at my awesome gaming laptop in a month.  Then list the price and its sub $1000.  But what makes my Gaming Laptop particularly powerful is that its a tablet PC, so I got the option to use the pen tool on it.

I am not too sure about the 9800x2, just like I was not sure about the HD3870x2.  I mean its only a 30% performance increase from the ultra for slapping 2 ultras together in SLi.  The HD3870x2 in most cases performs about the same amount over the 8800 Ultra.  The chip is still a G92, so its not a real step up.

Yea I remember seeing this over a year ago, this is one of the best ideas for laptop gaming. But it seems Asus hasn't released news about it's development progress since then.
