Wow player looking for something similar

nidhogg666nidhogg666 Member Posts: 1

i have been playing WOW now for about a year. And i am looking to try something else. I dont really like sci fi so i know i wouldnt be into any of that . I also bought guild wars and i didnt like that. I also bought City of heroes and villians and i didnt like that either, so i guess i just dont like nc soft games either.LOL . So any suggestions for me to try preferably one with a free trial or something since i have spent almost 100 dollars on games i will never play again. Thanks for any opinions i get i appreciate it. Also i was interested in Vanguard does anyone know if there is a trial for that. Again thanks

I'm gonna get burned by this one I'm sure, but I think EQ2 is very similar gameplay wise. The graphics are definitly better,  the crafting system is a tad more complex and there is more variety in terms of races and classes but when I'm playing it I can't help to feel like it's WoW with a different skin. Just my opinion. Let the fanboys flame on :)

I recently stopped playing wow. I had felt that I have seen and done everything that doesn't require a 20 hour/week raiding period. Pretty much everything before t6.  I didn't like guild wars, and though CoH was fun when I started playing before, found the end-game lacking. For an answer to your question, try EQ2. I found myself playing this game through the free trial and wanting more. Also a suggestion, try the pvp servers. I didn't play on one in wow, but found that on this game it brings a new level of excitement to the "old routine". Don't buy though, try the free trial first, and go from there. I especially like the amount of strats and just plain reseach to the depth this game has. Hope this helps!

EQ2 and LoTRO are both similar to WoW.

But if you're burned out on MMOs, switching to another MMO where you do the same kind of things isn't going to help, imo.
