Good deal. Maybe I won't need to buy a new dual core system this year after all.

I think it's smart for a developer to not push the limits and try include older machines to gain a wider audience. You can still produce a high quality game without demanding computers with max performance.

Yeah its truely amazing such low reqs for how good the game really looks.

Its a big step in the right direction for them. <3

    20Gb hard drive space huh...

Damn, what was I thinking when I partitioned an 80gb hard drive, more importantly why did I skimp so much on hard drive size when they are so cheap anyway...

The client is around 7-8 gigs, they recommend 20GB for future expansions and patches but I doubt it would ever get past 12 gigs.

It's just like Lineage2, it still has excellent graphics and my radeon 9200 actually runs the game at high.

Of course, minimum system req also means you won't be able to gain all of what Aion has to offer.

Oh and Housam, are their any games that actually demand your system specs? That's way over-kill :P

No game will ever ask for an SLI set up to be a minimum requirement. This game is using a modded engine thats 3-4 years old. It won't require a dual core processor either. The specs provided in the OP will probably be fine for the lowest settings.

From what I usually see. Minimum requirements can run the game, but expect a slideshow. Recommended requirements usually allow you to play on the lowest settings.

Aion deserves to be played on maximum settings.
    Getting:
INTEL E6850 or E8400 or E8500 (depends on what's not out of stock)
    ASUS Striker II Formula
    OCZ SLI-Ready DDR2 800MHz RAM (8GB total)
EVGA GeForce 9600GT SSC Edition, 512MB GDR3, PCI Express 2.0 (two in SLI)

Should be good enough for 5 years :P

    Cheers.

I wasn't surprised at these requirements. This game uses the Farcry engine which came out even earlier than WoW.

You're right. Minimum settings do allow you to run the game, but at a unplayable state. Most games usually run choppy when playing at the bare minimum requirements. The recommended requirements is the lowest you should aim for.

Im just glad that i am buying a new system sometime in June. My budget is £500 so i should be able to afford a computer more than capable of running this game, i hope. The game looks great.

So yeah, getting final parts sometime next week. Went with E6850 coz I'd have to wait for another month for either of other two. Oh and I chose INTEL because I have good experience with OCing it. My P4 2.6GHz went to a stable 3.2GHz. ;)

And i agree that real minimal requirements are the "recommended" ones, heh.

    Cheers.
