I started having these internet problems where my modem would disconnect me and then in 1min it would reconnect 
. I called my cable supplyer and told them, so they sent out a tech. to see the problem. He said I was getting a big single so he attached this small thing to the back of my modem it was ment to make single smaller! But after a day of using it the problem cam back! 
And I was wonderin if maby I need a new network card ? Any suggestions please post !!!

I had the same problem. What I found though is that the cables were messed up (not mine, the cable companies that ran to my apartment) and it was sending voltage through the wires to my modem. Problem? Yes. I have a Motorola cable modem and its max wattage is 60 watts, anything over that and the modem resets. If you have a signal meter, check the back of your modem where the cable connects (disconnect cable and power first). If your signal meter reads a wattage above 60, then you got some problems. If you're not sure how to do it, then call the cable company. They had to replace all the cabling around my apartment complex.
edit: Oh yeah. If you had problems with your NIC card, it wouldn't be causing your modem to reset.

I had the same problems also....however I just switched from Shaw to Telus.......
