most mmorpg has monthly fees except guild wars as i know of... i didnt get a chance to see MxO website so can someone tell me if there is a monthly fee to this game? thanks....

Damn, $17 a month seems kinda high to me. Most big-name MMORPG's charge $15 a month right now.

They aren't stupid, and know that 17$ would scare away A LOT of people planning to play.
About 15$ has become the normal fee and I think they will go there-ish.

Yeah if you go to sign up for a beta test it asks you how much you would be willing to pay each month to play it but i really hope its free otherwise im not gonna get to play it

my god what the hell is wrong with these people? Cant they see that some of us cant afford to pay $50 for the game plus $10-20 per month just to play their game? just do as Counter-Strike did and make people create their own servers and pay for it all themselves. Make the tools available to keep cheating low while keeping people happy by make sure it is free...

They haven't said ANYTHING...I repeat, ANYTHING about their monthly fees! $17 was just a guess of soljas based on nothing!
I bet 15 (which is NORMAL! Most new mmorpg's use something around $15. If you don't like it, mmorpg's just isn't your genre. They need to make some money on this too, not just keep the game live.)
$15, if not lower. As they do have pretty good pillow to fall on (warner brothers and sega and all), I would be surprised if it was anything more or less than $1 from $15. They might do something like $13 or around there, seeing it might attract more players, thus in the end making them more money.
But don't freak out before they have said crap.
And like I said, if you can't do a monthly $14,95, you shouldn't be looking at these graphic, big license mmorpg's.
And to screwballls Counter Strike comment.
They are running servers with like 32 players.
This is a mmog.
Who the hell in their right mind would pay the costs of bandwith and servers required to host for thousands of players for free? Make cinematics every month, continue the storyline, continue expanding the world until it's 12 times the size of Sydney and charge nothing for it?

i don't pretend to be a knowledge master when it comes to 'guild wars', but i'm relatively certain that it isn't as large, in-depth, or graphically detailed as mxo. if you are going to compare games, you have to compare more specs than just the fact that they are in the same genre.
you may want to do a bit more research on that. i think you'd be surprised at the age range of both matrix fans and mmorpg fans. i've run across ppl in mmorpgs between the ages of 10 and 40.
That last poll forgot to have another option for an answer. It depends. Because if the game is anything like that shit console game they put out I would make them pay me to play it.
