The list of games I have played

World of warcraft- 3 years but Im a bit tired of it

FFXI - (This was the one for like a year but quit it due to Elitest community rule)

Guild wars

Everquest

Everquest 2

Lineage 2

Phantasy star BB

phantasy star online

phantasy star universe

Lord of the rings online

Tabula rasa

Pirates of the carebbian online

pirates of the burning sea.

Ragnarok online

Sword of the new world

Granado Espada

2 moons

12 sky

Hero online

World of Kung fu

Lost chaos (Something like that i cant recall...)

Maple story

D&D online

And about 6 or so I cant remember....

Anyways Some of those games like FFXI and WoW hell even Guild wars. Were fine fun games. I did play them for over 8 months time. The rest were Just on and off almost within a month games I simply did not like them. My BIGGEST problem is Korean Grind fests. I cant stand Korean Grind fests If a game tells you to kill 400 of a mob then I consider it a Grind fest that I will NEVER enjoy. So any games that give the majority of quests as (kill 50 (or more) of X mob and come back to me to give you a quest to kill 100 of X mob).  Please dont mention Because I can't STAND them anymore.

2nd thing with me and some of these games is Cash shops. If you need to use the cash shop to enjoy the game or to make the game not be a grind Then its not a good game in my book. If the cash shop is just there as a 100% optional thing that does not affect how you will enjoy the game (The core game) much then its fine. But I rather pay a subscription than use a cash shop.

So basically No Cash shop if possible and no Korean Grind fest. Something with decent graphics, and a decent size community thats still alive.

Well ur options going by what u've already played and what you described not wanting to play are:

    0

    none

    nada

    ziltch

    Nothing exists with these parameters!

Returning to FFXI, EQ, EQ2, LOTRO or WoW are ur best bet!

Try City of Heroes .... its very group oriented just like FF11, but not that elitest. Well in the later levels you got also Gind, but you are mostly in groups so its not that boring.

I think there is a free Trail for it.

I was in your same boat. I looked for HOURS for a MMO that met my standards, which are quite low. I probably played, man, probably near 100 different MMOs, ranging from every pricing scheme someone could think of. I would only usually last about 1 day, or 2 weeks if it was good - but nothing stuck with me.

I have now landed at Wurm Online. You might not like it, but I love it. I've been here for about a month which is INCREDIBLE for those who know me - which isn't anyone here.

    I hope you'll enjoy it too. I'm Mik in-game.

    Blessings,

    MMO migrant.

Then we can only hope for some new innovative MMOs to be released in 2008.

Yea i know u dont like cash shops, but try Cabal Online if u want.

In Cabal the Cash Shop Items are 100% Optional and all these items can be found ingame too.

Its an Action MMO with a huge community, fast gameplay, PvP, nice graphics and the nicest Cloaks ive ever seen in a RPG (i love them :P).

U can find much videos on the offical site or on you tube.

Yeh man I gotta go with trauma on this one.

You need to understand though that the learning curve is not a curve and is actuallly a virtical wall. I look at it as rock climbing compared to playing with barbies.

Eve Is "HUGE" on a massive scale.

Now you need to understand there is NO grind. Sklls are set in a totaly different structure but once you get the gist of the Universe and how things work a bit you will see you how big it is and by big I dont mean a lot of room to run around in even though that as well is HUGE.

You really should try EvE if you looking for the following.

    Massive

    Multiplayer

Extreemly diverse in a lot of ways.ship build, charater builds,corporation/alliance , not to mention the most realistic economy in any game to date.

    Good comunity

    Great for RP

The crafting puts any other games to shame by 100 fold (IMO of course)gotta be close to rue though.

I'm sure I could sit here and list em all day. But I will also show a bit of what some people think is the down side.

IT IS a pvp game but...there is what is called Empire space. The thing to remember is Empire Space only Means Safer not Immune to everyone. You can still get podded in Empire if you do the wrong thing.but as long as you dont go shoooting everyone and flying accross 0.0 you should be ok as a new player seeing as you are not a viable target anyway's. Now PVP is not rampant in Empire so I dont mean to make is sound like a gank fest cause its not. You can have a very good time all alone  mining in Empire and as long as you dont jet can you prolly would never need to worrie till you got mad gear on your ship.

If you do decide to try it I would suggest now seeing as ambulation is comming and I'm sure a new rush of players will come to see it. Also Your first move should be investigating Player corps they are essential to good development. The last and worst imo is learning to get used to the different skill gain system.

If you are used to "The Grind" you wont find it here. But skills are learned in real time and some are long reaaalll long. 30-60-90 for some and more for others. {I'm not there yet) But this is where I thiknk its good that yur not constantly "grinding to get to another lvl" In this game you really need to grasp that its about what you want to do not the devs.

Now even with that all said you can be an effective pilot to a big corp at war fairly fast 1-2 wekks or so I wont go into that here as you can get plenty of info on the Eve Forums. But that may not even be your bag pvp i mean soo ill show another extreem.

You could get in game and nver kill anything and be just as valueable by being an indutrialist and make ships for the corp to blow up. So as you can see there is a lot to be said for it and personally I think I'm going to stick with it even after the new wave of Mmos comming.

All I can say more is try it and see for yourself.
