im really curious to play it, but after all these negative messages from release i had second doubts to play it, how is the state of the game nowadays?

The game is not Dead i resubbed 3 days ago and there was plenty of chat going on and once i made it to the First big city after the noob area there were people running around every where the game inho is starting to grow and has made improvements since launch, People say that the game gets dumbed down every patch or update e.t.c but yet you see them screaming that the game runs like a peice of shit on lower end machines well ok they have dumbed a few things down but most from what i have seen are there to improve performance thus opening doors for the lower spec peeps who want to play so they r not doing this to piss people off i see it as a step to helping get more people in and if you are a noob to this game then the changes are not going to affect you as you would not know better anyway, to those that have played it for a while ok it might be a kick in the Butt for you but please remember if they did not try to fix the issues they are having then yes it would become dead and you would then not have anything to strive for as the game would no longer be around so think positively it will make the game that little bit more entertaining with more players . And to those that just keep spurting that the game is Dead on what basis can you prove this? I really like how people say it is dead and dont even play the god damn game.
definitely try it if you like an enormous fantasy world then do it. its a good game!! haven't played it in a while just been occupied with work, but will be back.
as for all these Vanguard bashers...lol....its just their opinions and nothing more....no one can say a game sucks or is dead...lol....its a game and thats all...either your gonna like it or your not. every games different in its own way
so try it and post if ya like.....theirs absolutely nothing wrong with it......so don't listen to someone that pops in and rambles on about !!

Do you want to waste almost 20 gigs of hdd space then play this game!. If you want to look at probably the worst looking characters ever in a game, worst animations and spell effects then play this game. Umm yeah thats all I can say. Have fun in Telon lol! I subbed, resubbed and canceled my account, a complete waste of time.
Sad thing is I have a friend in AION, AOC (you better have a dual or quad core setup to play this game trust me when I say that) and WAR (unfortunately the animations are horrific and combat is very slow) betas, they are a waste as well. You want to know what I learned, stick to WOW (but take your time dude and play casually, its more fun when you take your time trust me, there's 90,000 things to do in WOW) and also play COH/COV I have been having a blast in that game. Two mmo's I will stick with.
The game has improved dramaticaly in the last 6 months. Give it a try. There is a chance they might offer a free trial, but that might not be until May.
There are a lot of trolls as well as fonbois on these forums. I dont think anyone will deny that the game has improved. A lot of the negative remarks come from people that dont seem like they have ever played the game or have not played in a while.

From a noob perspective with a few weeks in game, it's a ton of fun! There is lots to do and much to see. VG was able to bring back that WoW feeling for me where I got all excited about doing all there is to do to get where I want to be. No other MMO could do that for me...not even Lotro. I'm not comparing the games as far as game play goes, content or anything like that. I'm simply referring to in-game feeling. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but it means a lot to me. I feel good about being in the world and so far, thoroughly enjoy playing in it. I have 38 hours logged on Xfire in just a few weeks (lots of free time lately). That says a lot because I bore very easily. To keep my attention this long is a rarity.
Now to find a friendly guild or start one and I'm set. The game is really growing on me.

Some people love Vanguard and others hates it. All I can say is that if you like EQ and EQ2 you will probably like it.
The game has improved a lot during GU3 and GU4, server population has increased a lot too.
Its a fun and well designed game. It demands a lot from your hardware, but if you got a good PC, its worth a try.
