Hello all,

I'm a new member of MMORPG.  I have been playing Vanguard since Beta 3 and with Game Update 4, I'm finally ready to throw in the towel.  The game has changed dramatically since SOE got their greasy paws on it.  I won't get into all the reasons, as I'm sure there are many on these boards that are well aware with what's going on in the game.

  I've played CoH, WoW (hated it), EQ2 (sick of it), EQ and beta tested LOTR and just couldn't get into it.

I'm looking for suggestions as to what other fantasy type games that are currently out there, that I haven't played in the past,  that are worth checking out until the releases of AoC and Warhammer.

    Shadowbane is Restarting their servers on March 25th. The game is also free. Its open pvp though

    DAOC is a good game. Its pretty old though so the populations are low

    There's always Guild Wars. I'm not a HUGE fan of it myself but it's a 1 time purchase I keep it on my machine for 'stop over' visits when I get bored with installing and uninstalling F2P games (as you posted, I am waiting and hoping for AoC and WAR. )

    I think we're all in the same boat. I don't think there's anything out there at the moment that's as good as the list of games you've already played.

     

    We're stuck waiting on AoC and WAR. I have very low expectations for AoC, so that means basically waiting on WAR. The earliest release for WAR is June, but that's just wishful thinking. Everyone knows it will get pushed back from that.

     

    Try an FPS for a change, like Call of Duty 4.

    I wrote a brief article on how to find a new MMORPG HERE  posted on my website (Below). In the end, you need to decide what it was about Vanguard/COH/EQ2 that you enjoyed and what it was about WoW tat you didnt like. ONce you understand your criteria better..find a game in the evergrowing list will become easier.
