I'm in the same boat. I'm hoping Warhammer comes out around the same time to save me getting this for the pc. Given the time these things suck up I would much rather be doing it sat in front of my tv.

I prefer sitting in front of the TV as well. However, I'm not looking forward to playing with the 360 community, as sometimes it can be a bit frusterating to say the least. We'll have to wait and see though.
I feel for you guys... this game is being BUILT to be the "great console MMO" Trust me, the PC launch is merely neccessitated by the fact PC's are the traditional home for an MMO. They want to bring a next gen MMO to the Console, and AoC is IT. Why do you think the control are "revolutionary" yet play from all we have seen and heard "more arcade like"
Bingo kiddies. AoC will merge PC and Console MMO players together. And the Console folks will have a leg up it appears.
Always change your signature.
you make a good point vichhio but FFXI has merged pc and console players already but very badly. I think AoC will do a much better job at it because. 1) their combat system 2) the mature content (i.e. gore, nudity) since a 360 game without violence, blood, and a good combat system is terrible. this game was just screaming to be made for a console
Well, with it coming out on the 360, saves me a ton of cash of not having to upgrade my computer. That cash could go towards...more games!
So a question. Is the 360 version going to be on the same servers as the pc?
I cant imagine that xbox live is going to be able to handle an mmo of this size and scope.
Not really sure about this yet, no hard evidence that I know of one way or antother. It can be done though take FFXI as an example it has players from PC,360 and ps2 all on the same servers.

my pc/360 are running on the same monitor. DVI connection for the PC and the VGA connector for the 360. I'd hook up the PS3 but I have yet to find an adapter for it.
Couple the LCD monitor, + Turtle Beach wired Ear Force X1 headphones is one of the best setups I've ever had for a console.
I am going to wait for the reviews, and word of mouth on this first though.
I know that funcom is working on updating the AO engine with the AoC engine. I wouldn't mind seeing a slightly higher subscription price to be able to play both games as a package deal.
Current Games:
i hope the 360 version is not going to be P2P becuase thats really dumb to have a mmorpg on console but be p2p like FFXI i think its bs to do that
if you think the mature rating will keep the younger players away think again, them whinny little bitch's will cry till their mommy or daddy or older sib buys it for them......
Yeah i work at a gaming retailer and we will be carrying AOC game time cards so it will be easy for the kids to get online.
For the chat I I'd get one of those messenger key-pad add on thingies. That way I could use it for this, MSN, Live + anything else that crops up. Don't fancy paying £25 though so I'm holding out for a bargain.
I would be surprised if it wasn't P2P so don't get your hopes up.
Some people say they don't want to pay twice for live + a MMO but good MMO's are never free (with the exception of Guild Wars). Live is around £1.90 a month if you buy at the right places - that's not even a pint of stella .

It will be pay to play. You can play AoC with a free xbox live account if you wanted to. The xbox live subscription has nothing to do with a MMO subscription. Anyone who thinks MMO's should be free becouse they pay for xbox live dont have a clue why you pay to play a MMO to begin with.
How was FF11 very badly merged in console and PC? I got both versions and thought it was great when I played.
i got really disappointed when i ve learnt that aoc will launch on 360 too....say goodbye fellow pc users to any complexicity a mmorpg should have had.....
Here we go again. Having it on a console will not lessen the complexity. Step into the 2000's and wake up consoles are a major medium in entertainment and are just as capable as pc's when it comes to mmo mechanics, FFXI being a prime example!

Remember, you heard it from me first. XBOX360's AoC will see item mall. M$ wants micro transactions from their MMORPGs on the XBOX360. Funcom can deny all they want to about AoC having an item mall but EIDOS and M$ both want micro transaction and paid advertising in their games. They may or may not have this at the pc release, but by the time M$ gets into the picture with the XBox360 version, I promise you, there will be forms of micro transactions associated with AoC.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."
if they make a mall for the box version what will happen to the pc one ?? this will be unfair if a box guy can go out and get that nice new sword for real cash when us pc loving fools cant?? will they have to add a mall to the pc one as well if we can play on the same servers?? what then ?

Remember, item malls succeed without affecting stats in any way, shape, or form. Many games that have micro-transactions are things that purely make the game faster (i.e. teleport scrolls, looks, clothes, etc) and/or more appealing. Just because it says item mall doesn't mean that it gives you a statistical advantage. Many of these micro transaction games make millions each month just by allowing the players access to game features that make their player look good. For example, you got that phat ninja robe that is black, but your name is Pinky. So you go to the item mall and buy dye to turn your black ninja suit pink. You don't like your hair style, no problem, go to the item mall and buy yourself a ticket that allows you to cash in a new dew at the local barber shop.

You heard it from me first, this will never happen! We will see who is right on release I guess. Let me clarify my thoughts though, Microsaoft does do pay downloadable content for many games and might have some exclusive dlc for the game but it will be nothing that affects the balance or mechanics and will never be a full scale item mall. If I am wrong then I for one will probably not play the game or hopefully will be able to choose a straight server just like EQ2 with exchange and non-exchange servers.

yeah you are right if they just make it a item mall for teleport scrolls or bonuse to xp but i still think that would still be unfair if i owned some guy and we were lvl 10 i log off he goes gets a xp bonus scroll or what ever and lvls up faster then me comes back and owns me but its still close couse i am a killer at any lvl haha couse he has a few lvls on me that would take me a few days to get i think that is totaly unfair
