So I am curious. Am I the only one that has stuck with this game the past 1+ years and have finally called it quits? I was a dedicated fan and always supported it up until GU4 and with what is coming in GU5 - no thank you. I can no longer support or play this game as long as SOE controls it. Sony Online Entertainment has totally dropped the ball on this game with the last game update in my opinion. They continue to neglect the things that are broken and have been broken for so long it is no longer funny. Annoying bugs that should not exist...still exist since day one. Premier quest like Pantheon of the Ancients continue to go unfixed. Instead of working on some good content additions...what are they doing...re-rewriting classes! Yep. I learned the the re-rewrite of the ranger class that they just did in the last GU was nothing I guess...now they are going to re-re-rewrite....yes folks for the 3rd time the ranger class will be changed! In the meantime...Pantheon of the Ancients is still screwed up along with other great quest.
They removed factions with GU4. Screwed up the riftways even more(They were fine as they were - why muck them up and waste time and resources?). There are far better things they can work on and add to the game - like the expansion and more quest additions to Kojan and the optimization of cities like Targanor and Ahgram.

Now I'm giving it a try again and enjoying it (I resubbed like a week before GU4). I like the change to riftways, it's much more intuitive for early players. I'm not going to say much more, other than... bye.
Well, lets just say most of the rest of us called it quits around a year ago, checked back on the forums, saw no major improvements in six months, checked back again after a year, saw no major improvements, and still see no major improvements.
POTBS is going through the same thing, like Sigil they launched with the game in a horrible condition. Like Sigil they made some really bad developement decisions, and are now paying the price. They say things that are really similiar to what Sigil said, like wait 6 months and see how the game is.
The fact is that it is extremely difficult to fix a game after launch. People point to SOE's EQ 2 as an example of why that statement is wrong, but they ignore the fact that SOE has very deep pockets, and can afford to change course in the face of declining subscriptions. Other developers cannot afford the changes, Sigil and FLS included.
Right now Vanguard is SOEs, and SOE can afford to change the game, alienate the current customer base, and come back directed at a new customer base. They really don't care what you think, or whether you play their game. They will redefine it toward an entirely different market if they so desire simply because they believe they know a way to make it profitable. They have already applied ideas from Vanguard into EQ 2, so EQ 2 is a mix of old and new. Perhaps they see Vanguard as being EQ 3? Perhaps they are only raiding Vanguard ideas for EQ 3? I don't know, but they certainly do.
No am not calling it quits over the stuff you listed , rangers are fine LTP . What would i play than, Bored of the rings or Warcrap no thanks they would have to mess up vanguard pretty bad before i would play any of the other crap thats out there

I was invited for the begginning of beta phase 2, and had left by phase 4. It was a steaming heap of shit then, and most of the people that were still playing after I left said that SOE was actually improving the steaming heap of shit Sigil left them.
Oh, and they are re-wringing classes? heh, anyone played everquest 2 duing the first expansion, desert of flames? they did the exact same thing then. IMHO, if your classes are so broke you need to re-write the whole system, the game sucked in the first place. and never should have been release.
I just don't see why it surprises anyone that the game is in the state it is now. It was always buggy as hell, incomplete, etc. Did anyone actually thing soe was going to be able to salvage the game, after all the stuff that went down during the beta testing?
It's hard to take the OP seriously when he has his facts wrong (factions being removed with GU4 for example). The game is fun and it continues to get better. The changes to the riftway were system were long overdue. I'm not sure what all the drama is over, but SOE is moving in the right direction with this one. I've played about everything out there, and this one is the one I come back to. I'm not going anywhere for a while.
the day people stop complaining about vanguard will be the true end.. the drama is the only thing keeping this PoS in people minds.

your polls is a little unbalanced... You should have added an option asking who started playing because of gu4... I would have picked that option.
