Collectors Edition $150Aus - $80 US

Swedish retail store Spelbutiken.se has accidently leaked details of the content that comes with Warhammer Age Of Reckoning Collector's Edition. The story is passed around from site to site, but as of now nothing is confirmed yet.

This is what you apparently get with WAR C.E.

In-Game:

* 12 exclusive quests (two for each army)12 exclusive quest rewards (one for each quest)

* 12 exclusive character heads

* Special player title

* 30 days of free game play

In-Box:

* Game on 2 DVDs

* Manual

* Exclusive Mousepad

* WAR Graphic Novel

* Art Book/Atlas

* Exclusive Warhammer Miniature

It should also be noted that few retailers have listed a selling price of $150 for CE of WAR, such as this site, while at the same time some sites list it at $80.

    Do remember the price includes 20% tax (on the spelbutiken.se site) and that the dollar is at a record low exchange-rate right now.
    Although that price (999kr) seems awfully high even for swedish prices.

    Actually it seems like the price isn't that far fetched, looking through the other prices for a few other collector's editions it seems like the price is about 999kr. I suspect that may be the price upon release.

    The price is definitly not far fetched for the US atleast.  Warhammer miniatures alone go for nearly 20 to 50 dollars a pop or more if its a rare.  An exclusive you can only get from a video game?  Means its worth serious collectors prices.

     I'm hoping the price is closer to 80 bucks than 100+ but i've got a few months just have to not buy any other games till then I want it bad..lol

    This is the second leak involving the 12 quests & heads I'm banking that its going to pan out as truth in the end.  Nice find Tikovoo.

    Man to me the In-box stuff excites me a little more than the In-game stuff.

    30 free days of gameplay is nice though.

    Bollocks!

    Are you suggesting this is your first MMO? :)

    Any MMO box sale always comes with a free 30 days except for expansions usually.

    I'm more of an art monkey than an MMOer so things like artbooks and graphic novels excite me a little more than exclusive heads and quests.

    Both ingame and inbox looks spectacular, this is how a true Collectors edition should

    look like, I hope its true. Actually this edition is what could tip me over for choosing

    WAR over other new upcoming titles.

    So its our fault we make more than enough money to forsee & plan for spending 80 to 100 dollars on something?  Seriously if your unhappy about money get a better job..or just get one in general.  Not everyone lives off their parents purse strings.

    other than that it probably will be some kooky title that most won't use once we get something better anyway.

    This CE package is so-so to me. The in-game stuff is okay, but not amazing, and I could care less about the external items. I suppose someone people will get jazzed about a comic or a figurine, but I've never been the collecting sort. My thinking is this: when your target audience is obviously PC gamers, giving them comics and figures doesn't make sense because there's no basis to assume they want these things. Some will, of course, but many won't. But they're buying a game, so it's a safe bet that they'll like in-game rewards.

    More of the latter and less of the former imo. I'm not so sure I'd pay an extra ~$30 for a handfull of quests and new face skins.

    You have a subwoofer that you can actually keep figurines on and keep them standing?

    I feel sorry for you :D

    maybe they arent complaining, maybe he/she has a spouse that would punch them in the nuts/ovaries for being dumb enough to fork over twice as much money for nothing.... in a video game lol, hence the more money more sense lol

    I might point out that it'll probably be an actual Games-Workshop figurine. This means it'll be wickedly modeled but you'll probably have to paint it...but a great addition to fanatical players.

    I'm pumped for both the in-game and out-game bonuses.

    I haven't known another MMO to introduce so much for a CE as far as in-game content. 12 bonus quests and 12 bonus heads?!? Count me in!

    Eh, I think AoC's in game for CE are beefier then this. But who knows, once more details are released.

    This is exactly why they are including these things. Gamers are far dorkier then you think.

  • elvenangelelvenangel Member Posts: 2,205

    Ummm... AoC's IN game stuff is NOT beefier.  Here we're getting 2 exclusive looks for each race & 2 exclusive quests per race plus an exclusive In Game title.    Thats not counting the art book & collectible miniature.  The miniature alone is worth tons to Warhammer collectors if its useable for tabletop and actual good peice to add into your army.   If this leak is good then we're getting actual game content only available through the Collector's Edition.   AoC is not.

    For AoC you get a crap ring that you know will be the first thing replaced the moment a good one comes along, face it ingame CE items when they're rings or boots or whatever are such a negible stat increase are worthless after the first five levels of any game.    And a cape? A frigging drink cape...that you can't even use since last I heard the Brawling Mini game that you use the cape for isn't going to be active at launch.  Sounds far from beefie.   The cape if the mini game is actually fun will be worth it on saving on booze but other than that it adds nothing to the color and life of your character outside of the bar.

    The only thing from the AoC box making it worth the cost is the Art Book & Buddy Passes.

    For the 12 quests do you think they should be a quick quest you start when you enter the game or something epic like a life time quest where you have to do a number of subquests in each level bracket up to the final quest at level 40.

    I would prefer a life quest with a really cool unique item.  But I can see how they might want it to be something like, create character walk up to NPC and get reward.

    The subwoofer has ridges on the outer edges of the top so many of the figures shuffle around, but they don't fall off. The bigger ones are wedged between a few various candles so they don't fall down either. It operates like a miniature electrical football field, though the players are weilding weapons and the like.

    Oh man I couldn't help myself but grin at this sentence. :D

    Anyway about CE... This is again a matter of taste, or if you care about it or not. I, for myself, do care about it. I got money I can spare so why not spend some on it just for a lousy 30 bucks more... It's a CE anyway. As for it's content, it actually made me drawn to it (if it's going to be like they say it is going to be) as I intent to play every single realms and characters.

    I don't play tabletop anymore but I've got a huge Chaos army and collection of miniatures that I've collected just for the love of it. So yes, I like to collect...
