More lands or more game features

With (Mines of Moria) X pack coming up, it seems that  everyone is all hipped up, which I undestand  by my opinion Moria is far the best and most exciting part in the trilogy.

But what I don’t understand is why players in any MMO games always want more and more  Land mass …even in those MMOs where world is already quite huge as if the world can never be big enough.

A large empty world, in which players are so spread apart  is not fun and just make it harder to find group  . That’s s what happened to EQ2 with every new x pack the emptier did old world become.

Nowadays most of the time whilest I am questing in Lotro,  I don’t seem to come across more then 3 people , I mean of course that meeting points and towns such as Bree will be more populated but  I am talking about areas like Dol Dinen, Trollshaw etc…

Even though I do look forward to new land to explore, it’s the new features, skills ,new abilities, strategies and  improved deeper game- play that makes me tick every time  I hear that there is a new patch or x pack coming out.

I get excited when I hear that game will become deeper and more involving, such as more races , more classes ,bringing fishing, maybe be able to get involved in politics , to be able to progress and become someone important  , be able to open a bar or shop , to be able to live in a little dingy flat in Bree, to be able to climb, dive and build a raft ,  option not to be forced to play as a goody two shoes etc

a new ways of fighting ,riding , new mounts , maybe some war mounts , or social Mata- Harry skills like flirting and seducing .

and what I would like to see is more None-linear quests , with different outcomes ..

a quests with more intelligent Npc , Enemies  that behave like a living thing.

Anyway to cut it short I d prefer if Devs spent more time working on Artificial Intelligence and game play then land -mass

Even though that was not the topic ... I agree ... but sadly that AI is not applied to all creatures

for an instance when you go to Dol Dinen ... you have area where Orcs are just standing spread out doing nothing just standing for no particular reason but to wait for you .....

I want to see them gathered around fire , eating , drinking and fighting for thats what they do... some few asleep ,,, some of them on guard ... then i want to see exchange of duties .. those asleep going to replace those on guard and those that were on duty nervous to get back and drink ...some of them going to hunt for food .... do you get a picture

they dont feel alive ...they are made to look at first glance that they are doing something but they are not. even though in some areas you see some creatures asleep or next to fire ... if you pay attantion you will see that they dont interact with the rest of the group , its all they do they spawn in that position and stay sitting next to that  fire till you come and activate their aggresive AI

But I do like that little orc in doll dinen that runs for help and fetch others  when you attack ... that was god one

well the strength of LotRO is in the quest-based epic storyline, and that works best when there are new areas to explore as we in general follow the path of the Fellowship on its way to Mordor. So IMO you really do need new lands for this game to be at its best. I agree about the AI - I think that about every game - but LotRO more than most games does need those new lands. In part because people are so excited to see the rest of Middle-earth, its one of the main draws for the game.

    Elladan - ESO (AD)
    Camring - SWTOR (Ebon Hawk)
Eol & Justinian - Rift (Faeblight)
Ceol and Duri - LotRO (Landroval)
    Kili - WoW
    Eol - Lineage 2
    Camring - SWG
    Justinian (Nimue), Camring - DAoC

I would love a bit of both.

the whole point of this MMO is adding more landmass until we reach Mordor.

Turbine is big and can have another team work on extra gameplay stuff (which it does).  LOTRO's main goal is to continue the story line (which involves books and landmass).

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

    Hmmm

"Most advanced AI" - I tried to find the quote for this from any Dev or other site, say a review site...and even trying google...but, I did not have any luck. Could you possibly help me and point me in the right direction of where I can read about this advanced "AI"? Or at least where you heard about this?

"Latest in animation technology licensed" - Do you mean to say Turbine "licensed" the technology or that Turbine licenses out the technology? Or are you discussing the LOTR license which has nothing to do with the animation? Again, if you can show me where you found this information, I would so love to read up on this fascinating news.

As to "Middle Earth" being built...it actually already exists in literature and various hard copy maps...so, it has been built, and Turbine only has to come up with a way to copy it and put it in their game..

Thanks for any input on the above data!

Considering this games premise you HAVE to expect them to slowly implement all the various key areas of middle earth as they tie the various parts of the story together.  I would expect the developers to do exactly what they're doing and not only improving the technical aspect of the game by implementing DX10 into their code, but also improving the UI of the game with new updates/features, new quests/events/class revamps, and new areas of middle earth.

They've done a tremendous job of keeping things interesting and constantly giving us something new to look at and/or do.

Mines of Moria will be no exception and will add an entirely new side of the game and extend the story.

    I can't wait!
