TenTonHammer has put up the last of the Priest Class interviews, this time is the Tempest of Set, which is the newest class!

Personally this class is beginning to look like the first i will try out in game.

| Ten Ton Hammer: Are all the abilities of the former Druid of the Storm and the Scion of Set available now through the Tempest of Set? What kinds of things were removed entirely? Evan: All of the core abilities from both classes were retained in the merger. Ten Ton Hammer: Will the Tempest of Set be viable in a PvP setting? She seems like a fairly “squishy” class, but will the ToS have any sort of snares/roots/mesmerize sort of spells to mitigate this fact in PvP? Or are they always going to be “squishy”? Evan: The Tempest is pretty middle-of-the-road in terms of survivability when compared to other classes, and as such does not have an extreme amount of crowd control. That being said, they still have an array of snares, stuns, and mind control/confusion abilities at their disposal. Primarily, though, the Tempest is very much about area-of-effect damage and being a huge threat to multiple adversaries grouped together--having the largest AoE-based toolset of any class in the game. Ten Ton Hammer: Can you tell us about the class defining ability at level 80 for the new Tempest of Set? Evan: At level 80, Tempests gain the "Eye of the Storm" ability, which somewhat exemplifies their storm and area-based nature. Using this ability surrounds them with a massive cyclone, increasing their defensive abilities greatly in addition to making them immune to all knockback attacks. During this time, their AoE-based effects are significantly increased in power and any foes attacking the Tempest during the duration of the ability have a chance to be knocked away by the violent winds. |
As a healer this class really doe interest in the approach they are taking. What I mean is hands on approach to not only healing but also combat. Nice to see priests with the ability to have effective attacks too.
Can't wait to get one to lvl 80 ;P

Sounds like a really cool and useful class to have around, I won't be playing one as my first choice but will definitely want to see how it works at level 80 - especially the Eye of the Storm ability!
Thinking of Druid - this fits much better into Conanesque lore than the druid would ever had. Kinda scared of the class already, it sounds like extremely powerful.
The priest was my favorite so far. Heal and cc is rather unique for me. Two of my favorite EQ2 classes are the illusionist and the warden. The priest would be a mixture of both.
But i am not a min/maxer and race matters to me. I am totally into Stygian and so the tempest is most probably my class to start the game with.
I just hope Funcom will release a spell, feats and crafter recipe list for each class and profession a few days before release. Its much easier to decide which path to choose.

Its a nipple thing. I mean.. c'mon pink barbarian nipples. Aint that perverted ? Eww... Miss Piggy style nipples.. nah.. not for me :P
However, activly roleplaying or not. My characters always have a backstory. There has to be something or i concentrate to much on stats and achivement. A contrary character is always good. I could be a cute stygian female or a male stygian who saw the light of honor for example. I think the stygians are the most exotic race also.
Well to tell you the truth i never liked healing because all you could do was heal. But this class has really got me thinking about playing it i like the fact that this healer can nuke cc and heal can some one say GOD mode LOL sweet. Nice job funcom nice good with your classes.
