Do you need to do missions at your own, and can fight only with your party, so if you wanna do pvp that you must invite him, is there zoning and instancing? answers! Is it a open or closed world? GW or WOW?
Comments
Its open like everquest.
A great Fan of AoC has talked to the Devs he sayed and he sayed it's like GW, the world. is this not true?
He must have meant the first 20 levels. Because the first 20 levels is single player and than open world where you can see others and they dont have to be in the same party.
It'll be more like WoW or Everquest, more zoning like EQ(but with larger zones), and instanced dungeons/pvp arenas like WoW.
That's the way I understand it.
Just like tkreep said, the first 20 lvl's is Single Player. But I think I have heard you can meet other players there aswell from time to time. So thats what I can think of is more like Guild Wars. Maybe its like that you can meet other people in a city/village in the first 20 lvls, and only quest with them in group. But I dont know, dont think theres any info of that part yet.
But the game will be an Open MMO like WoW or almost any other MMO out there. If not, how would a PvP-server look like if you cant meet other ppl besides inside cities, what I think is a safe zone for players.
it is not like GW... not anywhere close
the only single player aspect is tutorial and maybe some of the class quests which totally fit within the game.
Geez, the rumormongers got to you I see.
Lets start from the top:
No
No
No
Yes, but not like GW
Uncertain, the definitions of those two terms vary quite a bit.
Niether, thank god
Let me describe it a bit more. It is not a seamless world, you will see loading screens as you travel between areas. That is the price of the graphics unfortunately, attempting to do otherwise would leave it even worse than Vanguard was at launch with its attempt at a seamless world. You will also see instancing, like it was meant to be, a tool used for the sake of events not otherwise possible. Over 95% of your time will be spent in zones that are either not instanced at all, or what I like to call open instanced (IE, somewhat like GW's cities were, plenty of other people around, but not the hundreds that would otherwise be crammed together)
Questing can easily be completed solo or in groups, whichever you prefer, and there is nothing whatsoever stopping you from meeting another guy at random in the field and helping or hindering each other.
The rules for PvP are still in flux, but here is the gist:
PVE server; FFA PvP in specific areas, including the lands where the city sieges occur, arenas, and taverns. Outside of these areas, PvP by invite.
PvP server; FFA PvP almost everywhere you go.
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.
Hemingway
The first 20 levels solo is an option, from what one of the interviews said, you can start with everyone else, or do the single player campaigne to start.
Tortage night time is the solo part.
Tortage day time is the group part in the same tutorial areas.
You will need to do both so you're bound to bump inevitably to other people ... for good or bad (if you consider PvP bad
I forsee alot of flavor comming out of this game system. I'm pretty sure that implementations within this game are going to show similiarities to Anarchy Online. I can't wait to test these forcasts...

there will be destiny quests that will take you group temporarily into your own instance. ie for a quest one of cities (tortage) is on fire. obviously it would suck if everyone in the town saw if up in flames everytime a someone was on that quest, so you get your own instance.
but no its not like gw
