OOh this is most excellent news. I really loved the e3 demo and I keep raving on to my friends who missed it about guild wars, of course they just think i'm mad, but at least now they can see for themselves how much fun this game is.

can't wait for october now, well assuming i don't get sidetracked by WoW or EQ2 beta's of course :)

Heheh, I'm exactly the same, and hopefully, come October I'll be able to get all my friends on to the event - I did manage to play with some of them, but we didnt get far with them thanks to most of them living in rural areas without Broadband (and the Internet gets connected every 2 hours for them :O)

Great great great news. Can't wait till october 29th, going to be so much fun, and there are probably going to be a lot more people in the game now that Guild Wars has attracted a lot more popularity.

Ah, thanks for the link help there. :)

I did the E3 for Everyone thing, and I have to say that GW was a lot better than I expected. It went from nowhere on my list to one of the top 5 I am watching.

image Great news but I have a doubt.. So, to play in 29 ~ 31 October I will need to download a client or pre-order teh Guild Wars in September right?

And to play Guild Wars every 1st weekend after this 2 days of beta I must have pre-ordered it? As in, anyone that uses the downloaded client without pre-ordering wont be able to play?

And by "pre-ordering" what do they mean exactly? I will receive a copy of the game only when it comes out I guess, which will probably be in 2005 so what will I use to be able to play all 1st weekends of all months after this 3 days event? A kind of serial as comprovative?

In the FAQ they say that the E3 client will work in future events like this one, so, can I download the client already from somewhere or do I really have to wait for the client to be avaiable at their website (when probably their servers will be +- overloaded I guess)..

image thanks in advance for your patience! Im from Portugal and Im trying to anticipate this event hehe..

So there will be an open beta (finaly, remember reading 1 or 2 weeks ago, the release was scheduled for summer 2004 and that they were on schedule... image) for 3(!) days?

Thats not much..., and to be able to preorder i will probably need a credit card (which i don't have, and yes im older thatn 18! but its not verry common to have 1 here in europe...) to be able to play the other 6(?) first weekends which is not a lot either... :((

I'm kinda sad right now... image

so does that mean the beta only lasts for 3 days?

  • deatdeat Member Posts: 17

    sure looks like it... image

thats quite crap considering most other mmo's have about a month open beta?...

maybe its cuz you'll get bored with the game after about a week image
