World ideas

LordFILordFI Member Posts: 35

I don't think this has been discussed yet (at least I didn't see it in this format)... but, what ideas would you have that you think would make a good world for the game?  I'm not thinking of worlds that have already been shown in the show - but totally original worlds that would be fun and different.

How about a world where the enemies morph into anything they like?  So you think you are walking past a blown up vehicle but it comes to life and attacks you.  There can even be someone that looks like they're on your team.  Maybe there'd be a slight way that you could tell if you were looking for it (a symbol or something that shows up somewhere on the object that the creature is pretending to be).

Or maybe a forest world that has a lot of water (streams, lakes, waterfalls) and you'd have to do a lot of swiming.  You could put underwater caves or a tunnel that goes to another part of the forest.  it would also be a great place to put a water monster or two.  The gate could be underwater so as soon as you get there, you have to find a way out without drowning.

What ideas are out there?  (who knows, maybe even the devs will like it and you'll be playing it next year!!)

I would settle for a world we could live in and be a interactive part, ala the show. sigh :(

stargate was intellectual in nature more then visceral. Why o why cheyenne have you done this to me :(

yes I want a world I can immerse myself in...what are the odds? i'd be happy to gate there!

How about a midevil world with Orcs and trolls to make all the fans of WOW crossover?  hehe  Actually it would be fun to see, because you could keep your blaster which would be a change in gameplay.  Just make the monsters tougher.

How about a world with gravitational issues? You could be walking along and suddenly be able to jump further or float before the gravity comes back.  When the gravity got stronger, bird could fall from the sky or buildings could start to crumble (slightly).

    World Ideas, Lets see...

Of course we have to have the desert planet (as the go'ould(sp) planet WAS desert)

We also need a forest planet or two..

    maybe a volcanic planet..

    an Ice planet..

    mm- lets see.

    A cave planet?

I dunno.. the planet types are just as limitless as the human imagination.

I do figure however that alot of planets from the series will make appearances in the video game.

(Oh and as for "Why oh why Cheyenne". I live in Colorado here by Cheyenne mountain, you know theres actually a sealed off door (apparently its storage) with a "Stargate Command" sign above it? :D )

the goauld planet was not a desert it was a forest with lots of water like lakes and rivers, seeing as how they come from water and all ... i think you are thinking of the Egyptian type world where the movie took place as well as a few episodes.. but for the life of me i can think of the name... now i need to go watch every episode all over again from the begining... see what you did...

    Hey all,

Why not like Jack and Rodney have been syggesting for years now have an awesome planet with beautiful open minded women.

And maybe one filled with guys, just for the women, well maybe if the designers have enough time. HAHA.

And if not that then, I would like at the very least two contrasting worlds; one with the busiest city imaginable with flying vehicles and just masses of people and another the quietest place imaginable, to show how every world is different, beautiful and truely unique.

But yeh planet with beautiful open minded women..

That I would love to see. It would probably make a lot more sense if it was a wrecked ship with artificial gravity that is messed up though. A Goa'uld mothership would be perfect, plus they could make it really messed up by changing which direction 'down' is. Imagine walking down a long corridor in a mothership, when suddenly the gravity changes  and you end up hurtling through the air towards the wall at the end of the corridor.

I would love to see worlds where the point is about solving a series of brain-teasers that are very well thought out.  Maybe you'd have to blow up a tree, and once it fell, it let in some sunlight that shined on a statue which made some markings visible that would be a code to type into a computer that would open.... etc.  - - but all of the brain-teasers are inter-twined and relate somehow to each other.  Of course, mix up some baddies to blow up along the way.

They come from P3X-888, same world as the Unas the reptilian humanoids.  It is not a desert planet.  The Goa'uld are aquatic creatures so there were alot of water on their planet and plant life.  And the Unas were their first host.

I definitely like the idea of creating worlds that aren't already in the lore that is Stargate.  After reading all of the details about the game, it is clear that the devs are working to stay true to the show.   However, why not make some worlds that are completely from scratch?  Almost like a new episode!  I love that idea and hope they take full advantage of being creative and developing brand new worlds, creatures, and stories (sounds like they are!).

I agree.  Take some creative ideas and do things that aren't in the show.  As long as it still has the Stargate feel, etc.  Also, it sounds like new worlds will be coming out regularly, so it would be great to keep up with something that was introduced in Atlantis at the same time.
