The name kinda says it all. =P I want to upgrade my graphics card and add some RAM. How do I tell if it is possible to upgrade the computer, and will certain cards and RAM sticks not be compatible with certain computers? If anybody can tell me how I am supposed to tell, that would be great. If you can't explain, and simply want to say whether or not mine is upgradable, I can post my DxDiag. However, for future and present knowledge, I would prefer to learn how to recognize whether a computer is upgradable or not.

Look up your computer model number on the manufacturer's website (I am assuming you bought it and didn't build it).
Should tell you what slots you have, how much RAM your motherboard can recognize, etc.

Desktop - AMD 8450 Tri Core, 3 gigs of DDR2 800 RAM, ATI HD 3200 Graphics, Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit
Laptop (Dell Latitude E6400) - Intel P8400, 2 GIGs of RAM, Intel X4500, Windows XP Professional

This should tell you everything could ever care to know about your computer.
Post your motherboard model info on here and I should be able to look it up for you.
