I have looked at alot of some really good helpers that are stickied at the top but id like some individual advice. There are 100's of mmo's anymore and I am just looking for something that can attract someone for years. I am a SWG refuge so the last game i really loved was that, but it has changed for the worse in my opinion. Would be great for opinions of others current Fav MMO's, the kind of MMOs that give those good memories. Ive played games like WoW, even capped at 70, but it never seemed that nastalgic looking back like games such as planetside or SWG did.

To pay for play, or pay not for play, that is the question.

       First, I know exactly how you feel, I'm a  SWG refugee as well and nothing has been able to hold my interest since.

     The only thing I can say is hold out a bit longer.  In my opinion, there are some fine titles released but nothing that can fill that void, yet.  I fear there's little that can capture that type of feel in gameplay.

      I hope that soon AoC can keep me going much longer than the others I've tried but until Earthrise, Fallen Earth or Darkfall are finished, I can't point you to anything like preNGE SWG. 

     Still, I hope others can give some suggestions and that you find something that will like, for awhile.

     Since you just left WoW, LoTRO would be my suggestion but the two are very close in gameplay so I don't know if that would be what your after in the short term. 

      Earthrise, however, is sci-fi based and closely matches the old SWG in some game mechanic respects with new storyline lore and good graphics.  It's hitting closed beta end of summer to mid fall this year so keep an eye on it.  Anyhow, GL!

    There are only two games I've ever had long lasting memories from.  I've kept screen shots even still to this day and look back and still feel what I did then.  One was of course SWG, which I played for a while before the CU and the NGE, then just gave up.  I even went back after the CU and figured it wasn't so bad, I could live with it... then... well, everyone knows the rest :(

    My first MMO ever was Dark Age of Camelot.  I've been playing that going on 6 years now.  It will always be my favorite, even though it has changed a lot over the years.  I have so many good memories, like bringing down a server on a relic raid because there were just too many people.  That was only about a year ago and It reminded me of the good old days when there were so many people in RvR you had to deal with the fps or just stare at the ground and hope for the best.

    I had fun palying Horizons too, but I didn't stay there more than a year because there was no PvP and sometimes I just need to kill someone.

    Now... I'm waiting for AoC I think... but part of me just wants to turn back time and relive the glory days...
