I hate to say it...but a lot of threads already exists for this. I will say though, I am new...brand new...and at first was worried over many issues I had running the game.
Luckily, they worked out. I have a blog with some info on those issues, and it is a 30 day diary of playing as well...
Check it here

Update coming soon with a brief breakdown of how I am feeling about the game after a week...coming soon....
Thanks and good luck
Bloodmage isn't an easy class. If you want to solo, I suggest you stay in Offensive Form facing 2 dots, but Defensive Form facing 3 dots. 3 dots take more time to kill, so you cannot kill it as fast, and Defensive Form gives you some hp regeneration, and mitigation, it would be a lot slower though. Even in a group, changing to Defensive Form when it's a harder situation, though Offensive Form is fun and thrilling, sometimes you still need Defensive Form.
The game is a live and kicking. The populations are ok and are perhaps growning some. There is a bit of a learning curve and things could certainly be more polished but the game is playable, fun and rewarding. There is a lot to see and a lot to do.

Can any one tell which is the best server with more ppl?
The game is ...ok...I do like the visuals, but the quests are oh so...and I see a lot of people chatting, but not many running around. I am about ready to start grouping also...and will see how that progresses.
Cheers all
Remember though the world is huge so you won't see huge numbers of people in one area. Although with the new rifts it is pretty easy to get together with people in your low teens once you learn your way around some.

The way vanguard is setup has each race start in its own area, then slowly brings them together as you progress down the quest lines/areas. So you'll see very little population (unless you picked a popular race anyway) in your starter area, little population in the area where you join up with another race or two, then moderate population as you get to the end of the quest lines in your area, and eventually probably will end up over at renton keep where everyone seems to go, and see lots of people around.
I am thinking about trying it again also.
I have two very valid concerns;
1. Due to the reported low subscriber population, is there a possibility of the game folding up completely?
2. This is an SOE game and I was one of the many people burned by them in SWG. My concern is that say l try the game and like it, invest A LOT of time and then SOE does some kind of "game enhancement" to it that could erase all the hard work invested. They wouldn't really do that AGAIN, would they ??
I don't think it is likely to fold up. Fundamentally the game is pretty good what is hurting it were bugs and launch problems. Technically it is a feature rich game that is pve oriented and offers as much or more as anything out today or coming out in the next year.
I think what we will see is they will continue to fix the bugs and add content and then do a marketing relaunch to try to drive up the subs. The future beyond that depends a lot on how successful this drive is. If the game is solid the numbers will go up some and then they will either just keep it alive as a value add station game or they will get behind it and announce and expansion.
Will they revamp the game completely like SWG? I'd highly doubt that but then again they aren't going to not change anything. They are going to try to make the game better and improve it and that might require changes. I highly doubt we will see anything like swg where they basically scrapped the entire game mechanics and redid it all. But I'm sure some people will see similarities when they rebalance a class but realisitcally thats the kinda thing that happens in all games. What I would see as reasonable is that they might redo some of the classes making them more customizable. Kinda like where you progress then specialize in areas and that kinda stuff to deepen the diversity of the classes. I'm not sure I'd see that as a bad thing but I'm sure any change might be percieved as a SWG type change....
In the end it is impossible to predict what will happen with the reorg in sony for all we know they might shut down all the games and go totally ps3 oriented for all new stuff.
