What's The Best Free MMO That's Like WoW?

Sometimes I am under such a tight budget shelling out the $15 is a stretch for me, a few times I have had to go a few weeks with my WoW account inactive.

I'd like to find a 'free to play' WoW alternative and people have hinted there are several WoW 'knock offs' out there, but so far the only one I have found is 'Talisman Online'.

Since I'm new to the community, have any advanced gamers out there got any Free To Play recommendations for games that are similar to WoW?

No I haven't, but I have another possible solution where you can keep playing WoW.  I've recently gotten 4 free months of WoW by sending either scrolls of ressurection or Recruit-a-friend scrolls to people.  If you are not familiar with the process click on the link below.  I'd target friends that have played the game in the past or people who have possibly expressed an interest in coming back to the game or perhaps someone who has never tried WoW but is looking for something to play.  Patch 2.4 added a whole new area and now would be a good time to return to Azeroth.  As an added bonus, you might just have another person to group up with in game.  It's a win-win situation.

I would say everyone should own Guild Wars even if you don't play it much as well you aren't in for any extra cost after you buy the game.  Uhmmm try Anarchy Online as you can play that for free and it plays well and doesn't look horrid.

Perfect world isnt to bad if you dont play alot, if you play alot you will get bored but then you get bored of anything if you play alot I suppose. I played perfect world up to lvl 74 i think, up to 60 its alot like wow, basic questing grinding etc after that you turn regular asain mmo style with tons of grind, its still easy compared to like lineage 2 but I got tired of the game since end game is mostly clan pvp and I prefer smaller pvp like a group of poeple or one on one stuff, Not 100+ people

I'd say Shaiya. It has two factions, roughly the same classes, instances, group-quests and solo quests similar to WoW.

The graphics, IMO, are much better than what you find on WoW. The character customization options aren't that great, but hey, it's a free game...

However, there is only one server, and you cannot have a light and a dark (similar to horde and alliance) character at the same time, so you must choose your alliance well. Also, there is a difference between easy, normal, hard and ultimate mode. When you reach max (lvl 50) on normal mode, you unlock hard and can start a new character in hard mode. Some players find  this quite annoying.

Apart from that, I'd say it's a free-to-play WoW copy. You can purchase a mount at lvl 40, grind your heart out, and so on and so on.

I recently got Guild Wars to fill in those months when I couldn't play WOW, and it's pretty dreadful in comparison.

I dunno, MMOs with no monthly fee generally don't have the budget to have a game that functions nearly as easily and as great as WOW.

i play on australian servers because racism is acceptable there

I would say Zu Online would be a good option for you , it is almost identical to WOW graphicaly, and plays very well for a free game
