I think their should be some system of colour coordinating a reply to a specific post with the post your making. Allowing for people to address single arguments within a post easier.
For example Somebody makes a green box argument. All points pertaining to that point could be green box''d so you can try to understand how that arugment has progressed without having the wade through all the crap.
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...

Interesting idea but I'm not sure if it would work out to be practical.

The thing is that things can branch off, and rather than having a 10 foot chain quotation, it might help to keep things readable if their was some other way to "reply" to a perticular persons arguments without quoting the last 15 posts.
