Is all I can say.
Jeez what a waste of time. A pretty waste of time, but a waste of time none the less. It took me hours to get enough money and skill points in order to install a jammer into my ship only to find out that I need more skills to USE the damn thing in the first place. Of course, the game doesn't tell you that does it? Nope, that would mean that a player might not waste some time vainly looking for something that might work the first time.
Oh and for those of you who say "did you do the tutorial?" I most certianly did.
I can see how someone who likes endless crafting and mining would like this game (In which case you have my infinite pity) but for the rest of us, give me story and content before pretty graphics. If I want pretty and useless, I'll go to a garden center...

you can check the info on any item in game and see what skills it requires.
btw jammers are pretty useless for a new player.. you should be looking to using other items that are more usefull, and not taking up space with things that even experienced players only use when the situation demands it.
you dont need to mine if you dont want to, you can kill npc, do agents or buy and sell. of them i would suggest agents.
you dont need to "craft" things if you dont want to. "crafting" (in eve we dont use the word crafting .. but who cares) is boring in all games, but the purpose is to get something that you can then use or sell which is the more fun part.
Content and story are player driven, so if you cant come up with your own, and are unable / unwilling to get involved with the ones going on then ya.. eve aint for you. this is not another "hold your hand the whole way through" mmo. it is not a hack and slash. or a level grinder. or a finite game.
Well Zipeh. What more can i say?

lol why in the free world did you spend all your time trying to get a Jammer when you first started out?
go to an item "Jammer" then click on Required SKills. It will tell you everything you need.
lol, i still think its funnier than crap that you were training to use a jammer when u first started. What were u planning on doing? PvPing with no skills?
ahh this is the perfect example of someone slamming the game without any knowledge whatsoever about the game.

LOL! Thanks for the insight and entertainment, Blacksmith . Yes, sometimes I complain about EVE Online not being able to read my mind, but no game is perfect. EHM. Now to undo the damage that you have done by talking out of your ass. 1. The skill requirement is in plain and blatant sight when you click "show info" on an item... 2. Manufacturing is only one aspect of the game. And it's not just mining, manufacturing, fighting, trading, pirating, and agent running that will make you cash. I, for instance, make a fortune by simply "playing the market". I keep in touch with contacts from all over the EVE Universe for information--- War breaking out between two mega alliances? I buy up high end ores and warships and sell them mid-way. High technology blueprints ready to hit the market in a month? I buy up the valuable ore that makes it possible, and sell higher when the blueprints hit the market. Trust me, there's so much more to this game than what a little pip-squeak, 5 day player can say about it!
Well first of all, at NO time did the list of skills associated with the item mention that USING said item would need another set of skills. NO WHERE.
Secondly, why is it that when people point out the inequities in a game, the fanboys come out with this icon ? It's almost as if they think you're crazy for telling people the downside of a game. You can't always see the bright side you know.
So call me crazy if you like, if I can prevent one person from wasting his money on this game, then my job is done.
um yes there is...and the scary thing is..its pretty easy to find.
You have your own right to say a game sucks...but when you can't even figure out the most basic logistics of a game and then saying it sucks, there really isn't anything else to say
Its sorta like you playing RISK the game, and you quit after 2 weeks because you couldn't find the Boardwalk game piece

It makes him feel better about himself to put the blame on something or someone else?
Eve has a large learning curve...It has this curve because its not YOUR typical hack and slash boring poS.
Please do us all a favor dont go back, dont join a corp, dont join the help channel, dont go to the website for the info you need.
Feel free to go to whatever type of game it is you like?
Mooooo
Well from Blacksmith's avatar, I would guess he's a pretty crazyguy.

Eve isn't the typical MMORPG, you can't pick it up and expect it to be easy, you'll be a clueless newbie in this game for a lot longer than other MMORPGs. The game is huge, deep, vast, and very confusing for the new player. The learning curve is harsh, and for the uninitiated, it often causes heads to explode, resulting in someone spewing out garbage and talking trash about a game they don't understand.
There are so many windows, so much information available, its damn near impossible for a new player to know where to look for the information he needs. Its not a flaw with the game, its by design. This game is deep, you need a lot of information to be able to play it. The problem is that there is so much information poor newbies give up in frustration. Personally I enjoy the challenge of figuring out a new game, for people like me, this game is the greatest. People who can't handle a mental challenge should probably stay away, this is a thinking persons game....not some mindless level grind that is so common in the MMORPG genre.
instead of complaining about it you should have taken the time to read what is needed for the mod to work and the skills are all clearly stated...but no lets blame the game cause your too stupid to fiquire it out or to lazy to ask someone for help...of which in any channel everyone is willing to answer questions and help new players out...no one to blame but yourself so go back to playing asteroids..
ps. can i have your stuff?
Agree Totaly !!

Your Trolling is Amusing..
Especially the part about being forced to mine and there being no PvP.
Anytime you want me to show you where the PvP is just eve mail me.

I love posts like these, people with no clue what they're talking about. There's a difference between 'the game is stupid' and 'you're too stupid to figure out the game'.
Most people have now already covered everything I have to say to posters like this, just wanted to say that I support the counter-thoughts.
