The P2P Cost of Wow?

in World of Warcraft

I am hearing nothing but rumors as to the price of the game after release.
Does anyone have any kinda information as to what the official price will be once the game is released ?
or has blizzard still not come up with a official price for it ?

    No official price yet... but should be anywhere from $12-15 a month... plus most likly theyll have discounts if you buy 3 months/6 months/1 Year subscriptions like most other MMOs do.

    LOL, won't officcially annouce a price until the retials hit the stores. EMaybe while the european tests are up but doutefull. All I can say is all game like this charge around £8 a month.

    Like Vakk said, it will be aound 12-15 bucks I have never seen an MMORPG go any higher or lower than that range. Me myself i hope its 15$ that usually takes care of most of the little kids that want to play.

    Or the kind that will work hard to get the money he needs to play the game that he wants to play so much. I know I am not rich and I am only 14. Still a kid, right? But I can still get atleast $50 a week if I worked even a little bit. Not that I would want to use that money on a monthly fee. It'd be like buying a new game every month. I'd just go and spend that money on a PS2 shopping spree.

    More to the point, $12-$15 like everyone else said. I just wonder how Guild Wars plans to keep their game free per month. That's amazing. I'm going to buy that game to play during rest time or when I get sorta tired with WoW. But WoW will always be my first choice.

    Lol thats just gonna suck guild wars having like 2-4 expansions a year with no updated content till they come out and you have to buy the expansion... geez. I think Ill skip guild wars. The game doesnt look all that anyways IMO.

    I guess I'll just buy the game and play it until the expansion comes out. If it is high priced, I'll just keep playing until it is at low price and then buy it. I just don't want to be stuck playing one MMO and then get tired of it and have nothing else to do. That would be boring.

    well, thats kind of the point is'nt it. you play it until the content runs out and they bring out a nother game. the only difference is that wiith this on only 12-30 people on each server. People you start on the server with you will see all throught out your questing.

    Don't forget the EQ server that was $50 a month.

    The goal of an mmorpg is different that that of a normal game.

    The mmorpg attempts to keep its player for the long term. This means if you are getting tired of the game, the mmorpg isnt working properly. The mmorpg is suppose to be addicting, that way you keep paying everymonth. This way they make more money with small updates rather then actually creating a new game from scratch every few months.

    The problem many mmorpgs make is that they don't make thier game complete enough on retail, so it generally has a life a little less then 1 month, and updates effectiveness is only a couple weeks. Also another mistake developers do is that they center the entire world around combat and pvp, this also only keeps interest for a very short amount of time.

    What the hell is the point of that....youll get bored with no new content....And everyone will have all the neat stuff with the expansion and you wont so youll be at a disadvantage cuz guild wars is primarily a PvP games is it not? Its like SWG... the Jump To Lightspeed expansion brings the war into space battles but people who dont buy the expansion dont get this aspect and will probabaly be left on deserted planets while everyone else flys around in space battling each other in their xwings and tie fighters...Guild wars will probabaly be the same.

    You have that. But I don't plan on PvP-ing much in a game like that. I won't even take it seriously most of the time. It would be something to do on the side while I am either a little frustrated with WoW or cannot play it for whatever reason.

    Like I said before, the only reason I would purchase this game is because it doesn't have a P2P cost. Not to play it or take it seriously. After a while, the expansions will go down in price, or you could wait until they are all done with the game and buy a whole collection of the expansions. Like I did with the Shadows of Luclin and down to the Original. Played the original, then installed the next expansion and so on. Not too difficult to figure something out.

    P.S. BBML sucks.

    Well this is a MMO....if they stop making expansions expect the game to stop all together cuz no one will be playing that game anymore if they stop updating it =P....MMOs will never stop with expansions... just look at EQ1 they keep making expansions for it... if they ever stopped making the expansions people would quit and there would be no more EQ1.

    I agree with your reasoning for why youd buy Guildwars cuz it doesnt have P2P. It will be a good thing to have for a while but if youre like me and if it doesnt get content upgrades the game gets stale. Of course you "Could" wait till the prices of the expansion went down but by the time the price goes down to decent lvls the next expansion would be out by then.

    I for one am staying away from Guild Wars... I saw videos and read what the game has to offer and it doesnt interest me one bit.

    God I wish WoW was out... hell Ill even take EQ2 right now Im so bored LOL!

    PS say all you liek but Diablo2 still has over 1.2 million players and it has never changes it's maps for the love of god. Well once or twice.

    im not gonna bother with GW, it looks a waste of time.. and i dont think any1 else should bother. for a start its made by PlayNC and they aren't my favourite.. look at lineage2 and CoH. and with all the expansion packs that they will bring out its just another thing for the bin by PlayNC

    Actually Guild Wars is being published by NCSoft. The company that is creating it is called ArenaNet. The 4 people who started that company were the ones who created the original diablo. I believe they did warcraft as well. So this game won't suck. The problem with Lineage 2 and CoH is they were made by idiots. Lineage 2 for example was made by retarded people from Korea or some other asian country. This is obvious from the character designs and the bad translations in the open beta. CoH is made by.. I have no idea and I am too lazy to look it up. But it sucks as well unless you're a newb to mmog's and then you're probably impressed for a whole 2 weeks or so.
    Anyway you're wrong NCSoft didn't make Guild Wars, ArenaNet did, and the founders of ArenaNet are experienced in making games. check out http://www.arena.net/about/index.html and read it. May you no longer bask in your own ignorance.
