EXCLUSIVE! Hoth expansion on the way

We recently revealed that Game Trailers would be making some big Star Wars game announcements - we can reveal today, what one of them is - exclusively! To celebrate it's 5th year, Star Wars Galaxies will be bringing content that the player base has been demanding since 2003 - Hoth! However, unlike some of the current worlds, Hoth will be purely pvp based as the Galactic Civil War reaches new heights.

PVP areas SUCK!!!!
I much prefer the original direction of PVP and the galactic civil war where PVP could occur at anytime and anywhere.
Where (not completed) cities could be GCW hot spots and the players had control.
Why do people want to be told where to PVP and how they should play the game?
that you are wound up a little too tight. it was a joke. i suggest taking the day off and relaxing in your favorite chair and having a nice beer or something

Dissappointed though been over 2 years and I still have not found a suitable replacement.
I must admit to all you ex/current SWG fans, DDO plays a hell of a lot smoother although it lacks that Persistant World feel. If you liked, in concept, what the NGE was supposed to do to combat then check out DDO which is much smoother and more strategy oriented. You can even create characters in DDO which share the character dynamics as it were in pre-cu SWG; no real crafting roles though.

April Fools Day jokes stopped being very funny to me three years ago. That's when we got a "joke" that wasn't: CU hit the Test Center. There were many pleas in spatial chat for some assurance that this really was an April Fools joke. No such luck: it was the beginning of the end.

Reason they never added Hoth was because it would have sucked. There was nothing there but a Wampa and some snow. I doubt they will do anymore expansions for SWG anyways; they would never make the money back it cost to produce and ship. If anything the players will continue to get the dangly bits they ripped out off some ex-devs flash drive which slated for an expansions that never got finished. Once they run out crap that was made 2 years ago the game will be swallowed by the pit of despair completely.
You know there will be a Hoth instance as well as other places from the films as instances in the game. While I agree that adding in Hoth as an expansion would be less than ideal and instance taking place during the battle of Hoth would be awesome. The imperials trying to assualt the base to capture one of the films principals before they could evacuate woudl be a challenge. And the rebels trying to hold off the attack long enough would be cool.
The devs in a blog already stated they were getting permission from LEC to add new locations to the game most likely as instances instead of whole planets as an expansion. And a couple days ago in a post a dev said besides the announced chapter 9 and 10 they were working on a cool "secret" project.. I expect it to be something like Hoth or another place from the films that is not yet in game.
SWG will *never* see another proper expansion. Now that they have a paint-by-number instancing system in place that's all your ever going to get. Well that and countless collections.
Ok, the last "proper" expansion was Toow. With that expansion you got a planet with quests you do once and you have 3 instances that are the true repeatable content of that expansion. We currently have 4 instances and the 5th about to hit live in a week or so.
I personally would rather see more repeatable content faster than it takes to come up with a new planet type expansion, the fact that you don't have to pay for the content is a bonus as well.
The Nnge lol it will be cool has 10 rings to fight over and one ring to rule them all............ rofl

games that are good get expansions
swg isn't good it is even lower then bad
games that have players get expansions fixes and new content
swg has under 8k players so it get no fixes no expansions and the content sucks
