Good time to come back to WoW?

sfwtboysfwtboy Member Posts: 217

ok so I have played WoW before I got a lock all the way up to 65 and quit (I wanst playing with anyone and got bored) So now Im thinking of coming back to WoW but I would have to remake a char cuz I gave my old on to a friend But I would only be playing until AoC is released. So what I'm asking is it worth me coming to wow and experiencing the end game content when Im just gonna quit when AoC comes out?

    To be blunt, no.

If you have already played the content through 1-60 then there isn't really much there that new for you to see apart from the fact that it is now faster to level through there. Most of the new content and especially the 2.4 patch is geared to L70 characters, so depending on the time frame for AoC release you wouldn't really have time to experience a lot of it. Add to that the fact that not a lot of guilds are going to invest time in getting you through the bigger raids if you are only going to leave later on anyway.

My personal advice, wait for AoC then go play that for a couple of months (if it lasts that long) while you wait for WotLK to be released ;-)

It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

        Everquest 2

If you have a good computer that is.

If you decide to give it a whirl start your character on Unrest server and look me up under the name Jessix.

    I can help you.

WoW's not worth trying again. The technical issues have been getting worse, as has the community. EQ2 is a decent alternative, and I'd also like to suggest Dungeons & Dragons Online, if you like instancing games. It has the best combat system of any MMO I've yet played, and is generally a pretty fun distraction that ought to last you until late May, when Conan's scheduled to be out.

    ...moo?

If they ever redo the 1-60 grind i might come back one day.  Until then, i don't feel like grinding new characters from 1-60, i already done that 30 times already.

Id say give the City of heros / villians 14day trial a go. The games pretty fun and you could play that for months and have fun because its alot differnt then your standard mmo.

I suggest going back to LOTRO :)

I've just stepped back into Middle Earth myself, ive subbed to the game for a total of 2 months in the past but I never got deep into it. It'd like to progress further this time especially with the recently announced expansion on the way.

Nows never been a better time! The playerbase is actually expanding and is much more mature than most mmo's inc. WoW.

The 2.4 patch added a lot of new content, however it's lvl 70 content, so if you have lost your character and would be starting from scratch, it would be a while before you could enjoy the content.   Depending on how much you play it really doesn't take that long to get to lvl 70 though anymore.  Time played on my lvl 58 Shaman is 6 days 15 hours.  That's 159 hours and I'm a fairly slow leveler because I tend to waste a lot of time doing things like fishing, cooking, working on professions, helping others and whatnot.  If someone were to make a concerted effort to level they could get to lvl 60 in about 120 hours or so I'd say.  And yes I know there are those of you who can make it in 1/2 that time, but really you guys are not the norm, you're freaks. LOL  2 hours per lvl sounds about right to me, anything faster than that and you're really pushing it hard.  You be the judge how long it would take you to get to 70.

I would say that WoW is NOT a good game as a temporary thing to play while you await the release of WAR/AoC. First off, Wow is highly weighted to the end game content. As such, you have to grind to the top, then ensure you have the factions grind you need for upper content and yet again after that you need to be ni a guild and establish yourself as a 1st string player to be invited into the upper raid content.

My suggestion is something like guild wars, where you pay once, and no subscription ..thus you can play as long as is neeed, and still come back from time to time at no cost.

AoC is still 2 moonths away and yet may be pushed back even further.
