Where is the R&B? I voted Hip Hop, because there is no R&B.
Is there really a huge difference?

They both involve computerized beats at a predictable time signature.
Wow man that's straight up bull. I don't know what kind of hip-hip or R&B you know of, but they usually consist of real instruments which are edited in the studio that I would assume is recored and composed on the computer. If you want R&B, listen to Lucy Pearl - Dance Tonight. If you want some old school Hip-Hop listen to Arressted Development.

No, no, no. If he wants to listen to old school hip-hop, listen to the Sugar Hill Gang!

You just proved both of his points with the Lucy Pearl track. It's a computerised beat, and it's in straight 4/4.
The same goes for all of Arressted Development I'm pretty sure.

I didn't prove his point. If I did just by 2 examples I might as well hate every Artist, Band, and Genre yall put up throughout this entire topic. Lucy Pearl music has real instruments. I really wouldn't know if it was recored and mixed though....well for Dance Tonight. There isn't nothing wrong with that but it's just some of their tracks. I think Dance Tonight might have been a real band behind it. It's pretty damn smooth. If you can locate this compurtized beat I it would be great though.
R&B is like the blues, you can't just walk up to a computer and press buttons to make beats. It's played and recored and then maybe mixed or looped. I can make some rock n roll the same way. Done it in the studio before by recording it from some instruments then adding it together. Like playing a band in a studio. Their music will be recorded then edited. Arrested Development is Hip Hop that started in the early 90's that had real instruments but also had compurerized beats.
A lot of hip hip back in the day had it, but the lyrics is what makes the hi
I like lots of different music, like rock, trance/dance/club, country, all kinds...as for rock...anything and everything - from POD to Dream Theater to 38 Special to AC/DC to Iron Maiden. Why limit yourself to one form of music when there are so many types that are really good.
1. Muse 2. Modest Mouse 3. Tool 4. Radiohead 5. Queens of the Stone Age ...
Just want to say I never would have even heard of Tool if I hadn't seen the charity concert for RAINN he sang a duet at. My inner fan girl squealed when Tori Amos made him blush.
In terms of genre's though, I have a bit of a mash of everything. There was a time when I thought I hated rap, or hated jazz, or similar such thoughts, till I finally realized I justed hated certain artists whom gave the genre a bad name to me.
Everything gets a chance. Anything thoughtful goes on the iPod. Whatever is made by an artist I respect gets a legit hard copy on the book shelf.

Pendulum's 2005 release was enjoyable. I never got too deep in the genre, the bpm scare me sometimes.

(anti-flame suits are kinda heavy even for spring when there's still a bit of snow on the ground)
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
