Hello! 
I am a n00b to mmorpgs and looking to play a 3D pref fantasy rpg...
lineage 2 looks awesome but everywhere i read ppl slate it for playability and bugs? 
any advice on a beta i can dl and play today!

Well, Lineage is not in beta anymore. EQII, WoW, ansd AO-AI are in closed betas. There aren't really any super hot open betas going on right now. I would suggest checkin gthe game list and then sort by status. That should show you what's in beta.
Besides, mosty games have a free trial period, and are available for download. You can try them for the free trial period and getting playing right away.
Personally, I am an Anarchy Online person. AO has a free 30 day trial going right now. So, that's my recommendation.

...i have checked through the list, visited a few of the Betas there and the only ones that look interesting like you said dont have Beta at the Mo!
i have already forked out over £1500 for my spanking new shiny PC and pay £45 a month for my broadband so im a bit cheap when it comes to paying extra monthly fee for online game, but if needs be i suppose i may have too!
i will try a couple of trials now...

Try Rubies of Eventide. It is currently free but might go to a $5/month fee shorlty. Do not know that for sure though!

RoE is worth its price, but thats not saying much...
IMO RoE is a pretty horrid little game, but i can see why some people would like it i guess...
a descent little free game i would advise is Tibia... its not TOO bad...
at the moment though there arent really any good Beta's... the current state of open betas is a sad one... usually theres at least ONE good beta out there, but for now you're just gonna have to play crap if you're not willing to dish out the $$$...

Welll Dude If you like space ships and 2d graphics and the word "FREE" you should try out a game called
Star Sonata... It's VERY Addicting with a nice community and I love the gameplay... there are frequent updates like one every 2 weeks at least....
I love the game.... Take this for example.... I'm in... cough... 2 closed betas right now... And I still play Star Sonata more than the others.... The game is great... I guess you could try out Priston Tale also.. I've heard that's pretty good.... I downloaded the client but never installed it... I was too stuck on Star Sonata...
Also I've heard Conquer Online is pretty good... and free.... But again I haven't played it... Yet....
Try Star Sonata if you like space ships and stuff.....
