Title says it all but the point I'm trying to make is that theres these little kids posting that the graphic's suck and look too much like WoW. Well guess what, everything you see about the game (screenshots and video) are all taken on low res/ low detail settings. That's the lowest of all low people by god learn some common sense already. My question to you is why would they put everything on the max setting during a closed beta when they are testing the network, bugs, and how stuff works? They don't want bug submittions because of client related problems that would probably be problems with the testers computer. So yea of course the game will look like WoW when its on the crappiest setting possible. I'm 100% positive it will look a hell of a lot better when its all in high res, max detail, max everything.

I agree with you totally.
People should check the videos that are recently posted. Class preview videos and such.
The game look really good on that and people should start to judge the game by the videos rather than thoose low res screenshot.
Also the style and art of the game seems coherent and really good so a big plus too.
Or people just should stop posting completely...

I have shared those sentiments, but realise that its a closed beta so you just have to hope it gets better.
I have seen recent movies and its does look a lot better but still like wow... just in a higher resolution.
Maybe you have to play the beta before you can accept the comments to be fairly accurate hense the protests?
Not all "its like wow" comments are automatically inaccurate - you are just not contemplating the fact it may in fact be true, which is your bad.
The chars don't look like the guys in wow because they are completely different templates... you look at the leaves and trees when you get chance, they look like the ones in wow in higher resolution... its doesn't bother me. Its gonna be a great game!

My mates wont play WAR cause they say the graphics suck so they'll stick with WOW. I'll give a free trial a go and see if it's any good but wont be burnt by future mmorpgs again like I have been with lots of previous titles.

Somehow I doubt you'll bring up that argument anytime someone says they love the game and are definately going to buy it judged on what they saw already. ^^

I wish people would understand that a game with decent graphics and at the same time running at 60fps without having to spend $3,000 on a computer to run at that frame rate is a GOOD thing.
That's one of the many reasons WoW is so successful. It's not a very graphically demanding game, so any average computer can run it.
Now, this doesn't mean that WAR looks "crappy" or the graphics suck. From the gameplay videos that I've seen, WAR looks a lot better than WoW. Everything is just a lot more detailed looking.
Sigh, I hate to compare this game to WoW all the time, but everyone does it I guess.. *shrug* lol.
Looking for something new.
the developers have repeatadly said that the graphics and animations in game now are not final, and mostly place holders. They said they want to test the mechanics of the game and not worry if it's the graphic engine or programming. In fact, they don't even have a lighting engine in game, they just have one big global light shining on everything.
The videos from the recent convention and the video of the Witch hunter trophy presentation are more inline of what the game is going to look like. Which is better then any other MMORPG on the market. Even when you force AA with your graphic card it already looks much better then Wow. And thats coming from a guy who played wow since two months before open beta and has experienced just about everything the game has to offer currently (outside of some new 2.4 stuff).
It sucks that World of Warcraft brought so many idiots into the MMORPG market. Posts like these were never made when games like Wow and Guild Wars were in beta, and they were fucking ugly compared to everything outside of EQ1. Now there are so many new and casual fans they don't understand how games are developed, or the fact graphics and polish are the last things added in.
I bet they also only saw AOC during developer presentations and not running on anything except a super high end computer, because even AOC on low settings with it's lighting engine in place looks worse then Star wars galaxies.
This is one point I personally disagree on. Just because something is more detailed looking it doesn't necessarily make it look better in my opinion. Then I'd have to say EQ2 and Vanguard look 100x better than most games on the market or up and coming even though I basically thought they looked like crud even when they got released.
All I care about is whether the graphics appeal to me or not and more detail has *nothing* to do with that.

graphics mean crap all to me. as long as the gameplay is good i will play. I've played games like Runescape, Wurm online, 2D MMO's, Text based MMO's and the usual 3d MMO's. as long as the gameplay is fun then i am happy
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

I have seen some great paint jobs, but sometimes (I don't know why) the engine just makes things "work."
WARHAMMER fits directly in the middle, as it will provide both decent graphics and great gameplay.
I get sick and tired of people who create these posts.

Is there any MMO out there that anyone would consider particularly stellar? Besides WAR is still in beta and in every beta I have played in there has be a noticable difference between the graphics in the beta and those at launch. Anyway when it comes right down to graphics aren't my really my primary concern. Gameplay is first and foremost.

My personal opinion is that Mythic brought this on themselves; they've kept releasing movies with bad quality that in no way represents WAR's graphic, if what I've heard here should be trusted... Mythic has released many movies where the graphics are nothing else than well, crap. This posts can be expected until Mythic actually starts changing, and even then we will keep on seeing them.
If you're so utterly tired of posts about graphics being bad then put some effort down into showing how the graphics will look upon release. Write some comments, show some videos that prove this and then go on with your argument. For short: write a sticky about it.
