No More Instances!!

I am currently looking for a new mmorpg to play while waiting for either AoC or Warhammer.  My biggest request is that I want a game w/out a million f***in instances.  I want freedom in the game aswell.  I want to be able to chose who I am, how I look, how I want to fight, etc.  And while I absolutely hate the idea of class based games ( yeah I am a huge fan of skill based games)  I realize that these kinds of games totally do not exist anymore.

In the past, I have played these games:

*WoW- got sick of the game after endgame

*EQ2- same as WoW, but with better graphics

*CoV/CoH- absolutley hate the zoning and those lame a$$ forcefeilds or whatever they are that surround them

*Runescape- not a bad game initially, but the click to move thing kinda bothers me after a while

*Guild Wars (all of them)- so sick of everything being instanced!

*Vangaurd- for those of you with excellent comps, I tottaly suggest this game.  For anyone with a mid-low lvl comp though, don't expect the characters to look like anything other than plastic barbie dolls.

*Lotro- been there done that.

*Wurm Online- dear god.  Not a huge graphics nut, but come on!  Last time I played they still had no walking or combat animations in the game.

I know there are some I am forgetting as well.  If I remeber them I will add them

In addition I also am a huge fan of the whole medeival thing.  So please people, I have been looking for a new mmo since I quit WoW 8 months ago.  Please someone give me faith that there are still mmorpgs  worth playing!

Why not give Eve Online a go. Its a genre change, but its one of the last sandbox type of games about. I never played it but Ryzom may also be something to look into, however last I heard that game may be going under (Or being bought..not sure what happened)

    Good Luck

I think Czzare makes a good point here with eve.

Note that for most games, instances are a good thing (as long as it isn't EVERYTHING)...think back, a lot of games due this because its more friendly on a PC (would you want to be in an instance with 80+ people in wow?) What about guild wars?

All an instance is, is basically a normal zone but with a smaller limit on people....instances by and of themselves will not go away in most games where there's high population...I mean there has to be somewhere they can say "you and your friends go, not everyone"

Is true. Wurm has really strange graphics. If you have a powerfull computer, can look good, but still strange, like you will see pink houses and pink cars, and stuff.

Eve Online is your best bet imho. I would also have recommended The Saga of Ryzom, but the servers are currently shut down due to bankruptcy...hopefully someone will buy the game and save it soon.
